i am fairly new to weightlifting. i am 22 yrs old, 5'6 and 160 lbs. im in decent shape but i am looking to get stronger and cut some body fat. i have been training 4 days a week for the last 3 months. well, i have been reading alot lately about training theories and i have began to wonder if the type of training i am currently doing is what i need. from what i have read, everyone seems to say that for begginers using the single factor training it is fine (which is what i have been doing). but at what point should you switch over to a dual factor training method? im not looking to get huge, just improve strength and hopefully lose a little body fat to improve definition. any help is appreciated. thanks.

Don't switch over to dual factor training until either the single factor simply no longer works for you or, alternatively, you really feel the need to push yourself into
overtraining on a regular basis.

Dual factor training is hard work and only worth getting into when you really have to or when masochism strikes. Just as a ballpark guideline, there's probably little need even to consider the transition for another year and likely no need to implement it for another year after that.
