What I find really odd about the south is that people will ask obvious quesitons. For instance if you are in a parking lot trying to open your car with a coat hanger someone will walk by and ask "Did ya lock your keys in your car?". So you have to develop quick replies like "Nope just felt that whole key thing was too easy and I needed a challenge." Or "I don't own a car, why you askin?"
Stupid shit like this probably makes up 95% of what we southerners call "Culture".
