Elections are bought not one. It has always been that way but now a days it is so noticeable because of the huge elections budgets. Even our first presidents were the rich land owners. Things stay the same even over time.

Who has the most money and can buy the most ad's in the swing states.
Throw a good catch phrase in, take some photos with some locals who are know and your in!!! Have a good speach writer and spin guy and buy ad's and your name appears first on the news. It is a game that only few can master.

i disagree with the test idea because there are ways to bias a test so that you exclude certain demographics. the more control you give the government over the voting process, the more power you give them in influencing election results - which moves you further away from a democracy and more towards a totalitarian regime. i know that sounds a little extreme, but i don't think anybody is qualified to decide who is fit to vote.
