Whey Protein

My goal is to bulk up (without the fat). I currently lift weights 3 days a week at about 25 minutes per session and run/walk 4 days a week at 30 minutes per session. I think I need to increase my protein intake while keeping the fat low. What do you guys think of "Mega Isolate" which is whey protein from GNC. It has: Protein 50 grams, Total Fat 1.5 grams, Saturated Fat 0 grams. I plan on taking this each morning. In the evening I plan on taking "PM Protein" by GNC which has: Protein 40 grams, Total Fat 2 grams, Saturated Fat 1 grams. Do you think these two whey proteins are good options for me? How many grams of protein do you recommend per day? I am 6 foot 3 inches and weigh around 180 pounds. Any diet tips appreciated.

Whey protein

Borg is right. You should probably put a bit more effort into training. Bump those weights sessions up to an hour and you'll feel it a lot more. Also, I'd reccomend doing your CV work on he same days as your weight training, you'll be more tired but you'll keep the fat off better. Also, you need a day or two to rest your muscles or else you risk overtraining them and you won't gain as much. Your muscles grow when you are resting, not when you're training.

Whey protein is probably the best type of supplement, and taking it twice a day will put you well beyond your protein requirements.

The RDA for protein for an adult male is 60g, and you're getting 50g from one shake! Of course, when you're working out you need more than the RDA.
Include plenty of meat and fish in your diet. basically keep protein up, carbs moderate and fat down.
Aim for about 130g protein per day and you can be sure your body is getting enough (Unless you're juicing).

Another thing to remember is not to eat too much. Try to eat less quantity than you are currently but more quality. For example, a few pieces of chicken are better than a big plate of pasta. If you take in less calories than you are currently and excercise more you will put on lean muscle without gaining fat.

Last point: Don't starve! Eat enough to feel comfortably full.

Hope this helps.
