Around me (East Coast), Target, Walmart, and Dick's Sporting Goods all sell 300lbs and an Olympic bar for under $100.

What about www.craigslist.org?
You can find anything on there..

classified sometimes have ads for used equipment or maybe even call local gyms, you never know when gyms u dont go to upgrade their facilities...

I would look in a local bargain finder print copy. I have found very good deals looking in there. I got a $1000 treadmill for $300 that was only used for about a month (no kidding eh?). I was pretty pumped. It is a quality machine too as it has the incline and everything.

I noticed the same sorts of deals on power racks and whatnot, but I have no room to be building one of those at the moment.
