When working Legs

When working legs, do you do inner & outer thighs?

I know, I know... it's normally the clueless-skinny-fat-gym-newbies on those gynocologist machines! But I sometimes do a few sets of abduction & adduction on the cable machine.

I was taking a ballet class & thought that doing those types of movements with weights would help me move more easily & smoothly when dancing. Otherwise it is nice to have that tone in the inner thighs.

Do a few sets, or don't bother & only squat, deads, & walking lunges???

Thanks!

I personally like the way my thighs feel tight the day after legs when I do ad/abduction. I really push them though...not like the "skinny-fat-girls" you were talking about who do 80 turbo-reps at 30 pounds. Sometimes I see girls using weight machines and I wonder if they think there's some sort of racing time they're trying to achieve??

If you feel like you're adequately working your thighs, skip the machine, but there's nothing to lose trying it a time or two to see if you feel a difference.

The only time I recommend the abduction machine is when new clients have a hard time keeping their knees "out" while squatting or leg pressing. Most of them have adductors that already overpower their abductors (aka, flat ass syndrome), so I see little reason to use the ad machine.
