back in college it was common to drop a course and enroll in a night school course for the easy subsitute creditLestat said:We recognize black history month specifically because otherwise there wouldn't be much attention paid to it.
so about 6 of us in the frat took "black american history"
ordinarily this school is like 96% white
but night school was different,it was cheaper and easier
so about 66% of "black american history" was black
cut to the chase we had an oral presentation assignment
and it was to be on any significant black historical person in US history
well we in the frat did our research and did our presentations on relatively obscure figures
mine was on W.E.B. Dubois
and of course all the blacks either did martin luther or that guy who discovered peanut butter
george washington carver
the comedy being the looks on the blacks faces when each of us white boys pulled a name from the hat they hadn't a clue about
of course the instructor figured out our little game
what could he do
we all got A's
but I'm sure they did too
p.s. this was back in 1984 and a movie hadn't been made about malcolm X
so none of the blacks knew about him back then
otherwise we'd a heard about it
