have you been back to your house to see how it fared structurally?
my house in the 'burbs is more or less ok....fence blown down, magnolia tree listing dangerously close to the garage in the back yard, but structurally ok....waiting for Entergy to turn the electricity back on to check the inside..it's like a sauna inside the house.

i have no idea what the bywater money pit (the older victorian house i have posted pics of here) is like...still cannot get in the area. according to various flood charts posted on the internet, it is right on the edge of being ok/flooded up to it's slate shingles.

thanks for your concern!!

We lost a lot of old magnolias and oaks here during Ivan, pretty much decimated all the older trees. Young pines are all that withstood it. The older pines didn't fall down, they just snapped in two.

Good to hear one house survived and is livable. You should come over this way or drive to houston for a generator. At least get a refrigerator and a fan running.
