When cutting ...

dextrose is unnecesary for pwo. a regular whey shake will blunt cortisol. this could allow you to consume the carbs you need throughout the day. i didnt believe it till i tried it and its made cutting so much easier. also, there is no "pwo window", its bullshit. you can have your shake whenever you please, the sooner the better but it makes no difference.

having your pwo shake before cardio is wrong. no way around the fact that carbs, fast axting ones at that, cause a huge insulin spike and the carbs get burned in place of fat. the whole reason for cardio pwo is because the glycogen and energy sources in the body have been depleted and we are trying to take advantage of this state in our body to prolong the fat burning effect at a greater rate.

Yeah...well, my grandmother said that sitting on cold concrete will give you gas...

The formula is working for me very well. The debate about dextrose v.s. maltodextrin v.s. dextrose/malto has not been resolved. Don't speak of things as gospel...when there are huge differences in opinion and research...

Secondly, working out late at night and doing cardio late at night create unique situations. You are about to experience an extended period of fasting...

The reason I am advocate of the pwo shaked immediately...is I want to spare lean mass and start recovery.

Finally, its working. Its working without Anabolics. Fat loss...Lean Mass perservation...to the tune of 35 lbs so far.

You are not taking into consideration the time the bro is working out....

who mentioned dex/malto or dex versus malto? can you read? whey protein blunts cortisol release. no need for sugar, but you can keep telling yourself that you need the sugar.

also, unless you can explain how your body miraculously skips the insulin spike of these shakes which completely blunt lypolysis than your speculating the actual effect they are having within your body. what am i talking about, i know the effect it has once ingested, your just talking out of complete lack of knowledge. anyone who thinks their body is able burn fat in the presence of hi gi carbs really doesnt know what they are talking about anyway.

you are completely wrong. your body has no idea what time it is. fat burning and insulin spikes and everything else happen the same in the morning, afternoon, and evening. once the presence of carbs occurs there is no fat burning hence making the cardio session useless. show me one study that says otherwise. debunk the fact that carbs halt lypolysis. you cant besides using your "its working for me" which is fine and dandy but dont preach on a subject with the wrong information so everyone thinks what your saying is possible. carbs completely stop lypolysis. post workout shakes prior to post workout cardio make that workout session a waste.

and this is all very basic diet information.

Hey Little Tim....

I am not concerned about fat burning associated with cardio. If the diet is correct, fat burning will take place with or without cardio.

The major concern in my book is the perservation of lean mass and the recovery of muscle cells as soon as possible.

I am soooo proud that you learned a new word. That word being "lypolysis" or the body's dissolving of fat for energy. Good job.

However, the insulin spike is necessary to start recovery. Its that simple. The high glycemic carbs such as dextrose and the maltodextrin are necessary for the recovery process.

I think the problem lies with when he is actually training. Training late at night does have implications. Because typically you are going to sleep soon after and your body is about to begin an extended fast.

Ideally cardio, imo should be performed seperate from lifting.

Ya don't do any of that. Sip on the maltrodextrin during your workout.

I have read a few post about sipping on maltodextrin/protein during workout...

What is the effects...reasoning....

My concern was lean mass not the magical FUGGIN window!!!

If you workout with any intensity, and then add 30 minutes of cardio untop of it...I wanna lose fat not muscle.

If the diet is right, the fat is coming off anyway.

Not to mention I have lost roughly 35 lbs over the last two months and my strength levels have gone up without anabolics!!!

Hey Behemoth.... Did I do something to you? Youre a bit heated huh? Relax..... The original posters main goal is obviously losing fat, that's why I posted what I did..... The fact is, if you try to do cardio right after drinking a carby drink that gives an insulin spike, you aren't gonna get very far.... Insulin halts fat burning..... The dude might have a harder time losing fat then you do, so I'm answering his question accordingly..... For the record, that's NOT me smoking the pipe, so glad you took the time to check my profile though.....

Naaah...bro...you didnt do anything...I just love to get a rise out peeps...

Same thing with the other bro on this thread...

Just bustin' ballz!!

If you want to drop fat, you simply need a calorie defecit. Take 30 grams of protein and 50 grams of dextrose after a workout, and if you have room for anymore calories before bed (while staying in a deficit), down some cottage cheese and veges. Chicken and veges should work fine too. What you're doing is perfectly fine as long as you hit your deficit by the end of the night. I'm cutting right now too, and I'm in a 450/day deficit.
