I have an MD degree and am pursuing a fellowship in cardiovascular medicine. One thing I have definitely learned is that the letters behind the name don't make the person. I haev MD colleagues who I would not let treat my dead dog.

I'm not impressed by fancy degrees. I've met people with high school educations who educated themselves all through life and these people became some of my best friends. Not to take away from any one who busted their ass for their degree, but it doesn't always mean you are better educated.

I find college degrees to be more of a representation of an individual's desire and abilities to learn, and not necessarily a symbol of actual knowledge attained. If an individual is really motivated they can bust their ass in high school to earn scholarships (assuming money is an issue for college). It almost seems as if there no excuse to end your education at the high school level. This is, of course, a huge generalization and my opinions, I'm sure, are very biased...

Started at a community college dropped out courses sucked can't stand wading through all the crap courses where you learn nothing and it takes forever.

Studying on my own now, year an a half out of HS

CCNP, CCDP, Net+, A+, MCP, MSCE and MCSA by January.

Working on my BA in psychology, transferring to a state university in a year to get my MSW (so I can do psychotherapy from my home if I want to otherwise I would have a MS in psychology). But my big goal (I will be in school FOREVER it seems, but worth it) is to get my PhD in health psychology with emphasis on sexual dysfunction, oncology, and neurology.

I am an English/Education major at FSC in MA. I will never be done!! Just took a final tonight. I am working full time to put myself through school and have been since I began. Hard, but eventually worth it.
