Might sound gay but, i LOVE the shrug machine....

Sweet, thats a nice looking setup. We have a machine but it has stupid spongy grips that spin when you get a significant amount of weight on it, makes it hard to hold. I just use the smith machine for shrugs myself.

I cant use the smith or the traight bar anymore, its weird, i get such a bad pinched nerve it runs down my whole back...These macjines really seem to isolates your traps, i cheat the other way thats why it hurts i guess.....

I'd like the shrug machine if my gym had one. I must go to the shittiest gym in the world, cuz it really doesn't have any "machines", besides the smith machine.

Free weights are the way to go. But some machines are good for isolation.
 
Smith preacher bench for nonstop curls,

after I do my preacher bench curls with an ez bar, then I do not stop curls on that machine, my biceps are ready to pop.

the thing is a killer,


95% of the machines I have tired are worth less.
 
Come on bro's, let's all remember that free weights are basic movements. Bench Press, Curl, Squat, and Deads is all ya really need. But to hit every muscle and especially for shaping and for bodybuilders ya need some machines. My gym is hardcore as all hell but ya need the machines.
 
i tottaly agree that free weights are the best and you will not get the same results doing all machines.....I did train with a friend of a friend who competes and is seriusly a bb fanatic like i have never see(well until i found this board :D ).....His whole chest routine was without any free weights at all....All cables..You can get results fromdoin that shit but not gonna pack on size like throwin 4 plates on............:mp5:
