i finally snagged a copy of Ella Fitzgerald's "a swinging christmas", with her vocals backed up by the frank devol band....awesome versions of Christmas classics from the "rat pak" era of the early 60's.
ella's version of "frosty the snowman" transforms this children's classic into a timeless, swingin' pop standard.
all of the current batch of skinny, top heavy, studio enhanced, whinny voiced "divas" should bow their heads in shame whenever an ella song is played.
I love traditional Christmas music. This is one of my favorites "fall on your knees" that part gives me chills, except the song is called "O holy night"
