what's your ethnic background?

mongolian

wow. . .let's see. . .there's german, polish, italian, austrian, czech. . .i'm your basic, garden-variety, heinz 57, mutt. . .a little rough around the edges, not the sharpest tool in the shed. . .but loyal to a fault. . .

WASP

All the surnames on both sides of my family originate from the English Midlands.

i can trace parts of my family coming to america from what is now switzerland back in the 1500's, as well as English/Welsh bits of my family fighting in the revolutionary war.

Most of my fam has been here long before all you immigrants

I don't think much of anyone who came to America in the 1500s still has descendents here. The first English settlement, Roanoke, was "lost" in 1588.

maybe they came over in the 1600's and settled in PA dutch land....but I know I have my geneology mapped back to about 1555, in switzerland. If I had the little chart handy I could tell you exact dates.

in case anyone is trying to stalk me when im on vacation, my house is the white one ;) i have a big plasma tv and antiques worth a couple hundred k

Irish/English and Chippewa

i have no idea of course i have american indian in me and maybe irish? My grandfather looked irish
although, its ironic that i am from Tennessee and from a very racist town that my great grandmother x5 or something MAY have been an african american

I have family that came from San Paolo Matese, Italy which is a municipality in Campobasso. My grandfather came here with his parents when he was very young. I also have relatives (still) from outside London and pretty much all over England as well. These are my mom's 2nd cousins and they come to the States and visit regularly. As far as my Norwegian relatives, I have no idea where or when they came here.

Interesting, my father's earliest ancestors also came from switzerland and settled in PA Dutch country. My sister traced the family back to the mid 1500s in Kanton Zurich but they only came to America in the mid 1700's. In time for them to fight in the Revolutionary War.

Mom's family are 100% straight up Norwegian settlers from the 1870's.

Are you ready to read? Lol

Ok my mom's side is - Sweedish(My greatgrandma was from sweeden) Her husband was a mix of Irish, american, and french... scottish(my moms dads dad came from scotland), Irish,Indian(my moms dads grandmother was in an indian tribe).
My father- Pure Irish from as far as I know. His decendant came over on the mayflower and fucked up his last name. It was suposed to be spelled with a S and instead it was a CH....
Needto and I bought family history plack thingys when we were living in Italy. He did his fathers last name family history and I did my fathers last name..Pretty cool. only bad part is that I cannot find frames for em, guess I have to get em specially made or some thing..

Don't tell longhorn that. He doesn't think "white" people can be native american. he is over in the ann coulter thread telling me that I'm not 1/4 native american. He is such an enormous asshole.

I'm mostly Scots-Irish, with a little Welsh, Cherokee, and a touch of French. After having been to Scotland I am definitely one of them.LOL

Cheers,
Scotsman

Lot of American Indian wannabees. Unless you are receiving a check from the Government every month, you are not considered American Indian.

I am 100% parents from the same village, off the boat, learned to speak English when I was five even though I was born in the US (Dont hold THAT against me):

HUNGARIAN.

Do you sound like Zsa Zsa Gabor?

Actually her name is my middle name. Zsa Zsa is a familiar form of the name Zsuzsanna. My given name is Emilia pronounced Eh-muh-lee-yah. Only Hungarians can actually pronounce it right so this pronunciation will do. LOL

I can fake a great eastern european accent but I sound more russian than I do Hungarian. Go figure. When I speak to people whose mother tongue is not English I actually transpose verbs, etc to more line up with the way the sentences would be structured in their language. This actually makes it easier for us to understand each other.
