Whats the worst way to die??

maybe a year ago I heard this story off the radio about police and firefighters finding this guy in the middle of the woods in a scuba outfit. He was dead...and his body was rotting inside....so yeah it was pretty sick. Anyways, I dont remember what state this was in but it was in the south (i think Fl) but the reason firefighters found this guy was because they where trying to put out a huge forest fire. Well...what they think happened was that when those helicopters scoop up water to drop on the fire...they must have scooped up the scuba diver in a near by lake and dropped him over the fire:eek: That would be a horrible way to go! anyways, what do you all think would be the worst way to die? I think burning to death would be worst. I used to think drowning was the worst...but in the past 2 years Ive come very close to drowning twice!! yeah its not pleasent but I could not imagine burning to death.:kaioken:

so what do you all think?

Hey

I think the worst way to die would be in a plane crash. I hate to fly because that is my biggest phobia and actually will never fly again because of it. sux for me, its a long fukin boat ride to Cancun

The plane crash would be a rush! I could think up some sick torturous was to die, how about getting thrown into a large industrial size blender

anthrax

I would think the blender would be quick .. burning is going to take 5 minutes or so (depending on the heat of the flame)

There are punishments worse then death.

There are multiple ways I could be physically or mentally mamed which I would quickly choose death over, no matter how horrible the death.

I think the scariest would be via Lou Gehrig's Disease...

Burning to death is the worst, there was a FDNY captain that was caught in a flashover with his crew a few years ago, one died instantly, one lived for two days, and the captain lived for a few weeks, with third degree burns over 90% of his body.

being put in a woodchipper feet first and moving an inche every minute.

Burining alive with a flame at 200 degrees...not enough to kill you right away....you would die in about 5 to 10 minutes.

Falling off your board, and getting sucked into the undertow underneath a reef. And the waves keep coming and you can't get up. By the time you realize where the top is you are dead.

That is my biggest fear. The sad thing is it could happen to me anytime I'm on a wave.

Cancer...Its a slow death and u have to live with the pain for a long period..

the real count dracula used to impale people by sticking them on wooden stakes sharpened to a point at the top. the tip would go into their anus and over a period of a couple days the victims would gradually slide further and further down the pole until they finally died.

Being buried up to your neck in dirt and having fire ants come and eat your head.

Being skinned alive.

Having a pointed stick shoved through your ears.

Drilling a small hole in the top of your skull, then filling said hole with sulphuric acid.

Drowning in a cesspool of feces and urine.

Being anally savaged with a machete.

Having small cuts inflicted on you with a razor blade until finally you get your neck punctured and you bleed to death.

Or so I've heard.

I think one of the worst ways to go would be cave diving and running out of air and knowing there's no way in hell you can get out.

BTW that story has been around for at least 8 years...

being buried alive.....so I'm closetraphobic...LOL...

Closetraphobic? This is the best Freudian slip I've ever seen on this board!

"The scuba diving story is true and I do believe it happened here in FL. Can you even imagine??? Holy shit! "

thanks for confirming that Kartchic.:) I dont think I could haev even imagined something like that up! By the way you have any idea how long ago that was?

sassy, where you refering the my story being 8 years old? Man...i didnt think it was that long ago! I thought that happened like 2-3 years ago

a few months ago my neighbors house exploded b/c of a gas leak. well, the only one who was in the house was the husband and he eventually died but right before he died my uncle was trying to take care of him. His skin was so burnt that when he attempted to move his skin would just crumple up into ashes. I couldnt imagine the pain he was in. Oh christ....this is a depressing post:(

WOW, I sure am glad I read this right before bed!

Fire
Buried alive
Burned alive
Smothered in the stomach rolls of a Jerry Springer guest.

my vote would be

plane crash, in a house fire (though you're likely to pass out from either from fumes before you burn to death), or the big C (cancer of some sort).

Or to balance out the political spectrum, buried in Linda Tripp's fat folds.

Choking
A car wreck where the bystanders can't get you out in time and you sit in there bleeding to death.
Snakebite and unable to make it out of the woods in time to get help.
Starvation
Any Nazi torture method.

The worst way to die..... YOUNG.

plane crash wouldn't be so bad. If the captain told you ahead of time that the plane was going down, you might be able to rub one last one off just before you crash. That wouldn't be too bad a way to go out...burning though, that would definately suck...
I don't think anyone mentioned but being put in a small box filled with some sort of flesh eating maggot type organisms I think is the last way I would want to go out. I think I saw something like that in a movie once.

I've had malignant cancer. Took 8 months of chemo and radiation. Lots of throwing up and feeling like shit, but also a lot of sleeping (I usually slept around 18 hours a day, getting up only to eat or puke or use toilet). It sucks, no lie, but then again, I only lost fifty pounds and I did survive, so I didn't see the worst of it. Some of my friends at the cancer center didn't make it and not all of them were in pain. Mostly it was just being tired all the time and the suffering from the chemo side effects.

However, there are a couple of cancers that I can think of that would be most terrible: metastatic bone cancer with base-of-skull syndrome (unimaginable headaches that never let up), and pancreatic cancer (abdominal pain beyond description). Neither condition treated very successfully with meds.

Worst way to die other than that? Three or four ways IMO:

Rabies--Not kidding at all--also called hydrophobia. Imagine this: your throat and mouth get so sore and painful that even the idea of drinking makes you cringe and scream. A week to 10 days later with little or no sleep you die from asphyxiation--miserably thirsty and in terrible pain.

Tetanus--your erector spinae and interspinous muscles contract so hard that the back of your head could touch your rear end (they've been known to cut the muscles to save you pain). However, the rest of your muscles are constantly in tonic spasm.

I second the one for Lou Gehrig's disease, and then add my own that's much like it: Severe Huntington's disease--you begin losing voluntary control of your body. Before long you can't really move or do much of anything except just lay there hardly blinking your eyes, living several years this way until the merciful end. I've seen it in person...not pretty.

Any of the hemmorrhagic fevers such as Monkeypox, Marburg, Ebola or Hantavirus. We've all seen the movie...a prof of mine said that was pretty accurate and usually slower.

Here one I learned of from case studies in pathology that would be rough and earn horrible mention:

Abdomino-thoracic gangrene caused by the Candiru catfish...this little thing lives in the waters of South American rivers and is tiny enough to swim up a person's urethra. It can lodge there and die causing tissue death and gangrene of the sex organs and then spreading to the nearby abdomen if treatment is not sought. Seems like I remember reading that he lived long enough to see "it" fall off. This unfortunate individual didn't get medical help in time and not only lost his manhood, but lost his life.

Now I'll go have nightmares and claim to be an adult. :)

Starving to death would suck, but I always thought getting buried in an avalanche would be horrible.

I have seen the effects of cancer backdock, my grandmother and father both died of lung cancer. My wife went through chemo and survived uteran cancer. It is a damn terrible thing to see happen.

The Fear Factor television show will play on phobias, like being put in a box with flesh eating worms.

The first time I heard this story was in the form of a brain teaser - e.g. forest fire in the Rockies, after putting out the fire, the rescuers find a body in a rubber wet suit. What happened? I heard this back in the early 90s.

I think it might fall under "urban legends"...
