Whats the lowest bf% anyone has got down to naturally?

Is it possible to get to 6% naturally, if so how difficult was it to maintain?

What is the optimum weight for muscle gain, I have heard it is somewhere between 13-15%. Is this fact?

the lowest Ive gotten down to was 3.9%, all natural of course, for wrestling back in HS. It was mandatory to get our bf checked so the coach could decided how much weight we can lose and be safe at. It was done with calipers by our trainer but Ive heard that calipers dont give the true b/f %. So who knows I guess. all I do know is taht my skin was paper thin at that time.

Very good question. I suppose it might be helpful to narrow the question down to those over 20 yo. As the above poster mentioned, HS athletes, especially wrestlers, can maintain an extremely low BF, much lower than maintainable by anyone older than a teenager.

My lowest natural BF is 9%, but I don't have the best genetics for leanness. I could probably get that down to around 7% with more dedication, however.

Ah yeah I should have mentioned a few more things. At that time I was 17 years old, I was maybe 5-5 or 5-6 and my weight was around 130 or so.

depends on your bodytype, before lifting weights I was at 7% 365 days a year and all I did was skateboard.

a friend of mine now was tested at 5.3% and he said he doesn't even eat all that clean.

sure it's possible.

Last summer, I got down to 5.5% bodyfat naturally, until I got food poisoning. Then it just went down hill from there...LOL. I have pictures that I took about 3 weeks after, and I think I was around 6.5-7%.

Thats all very impressive

Does it seriously effect your strength in the gym being so low and are you more prone to injuries etc?

How does it effect your gains when your cut, is being cut purely just for show.

Do a search for a man named Clarence Bass. He is the author of the Ripped books and has consistently had an ultra low bodyfat.
