I like limewire and bearshare, but for bearshare you also have to get that "SAVE!" crap downloaded too. the occasional pop-up is small potatoes considering all the free music and stuff you can get for free, like the Ali G shows that aren't seen here in U.S.

I've started using Limewire recently and my sisters use it as well. So far, no pop-ups or spyware/adware that I'm aware of... Works pretty well.

I use Morpheus, which suprisingly hasn't been mentioned. I've never had any problems with pop-ups or finding a song, it's fast too. Oh yea and it's free!

imo, mirc on a server that hides and encrypts your IP is the safest and fastest way, but it does not necessarily work for the dense.

Torrents are the riskiest of them all. Great shit, but people who want to track you, your internet provider, knows exactly what you are up to.

The rest i really don't know about and I don't use. I don't recommend kazaa and all the bs anyways. I can't believe people still bring that stuff up. That is so grade 10, old school man.

There are many invite only torrent sites that once you get into which usually only happens when someone on the inside invites you in, your golden for life unless you break the rules. Since these underground sites are private and all torrents are private only to that site, you never have to worry about anyone tracking you. If that isn't your cup of tea, then try something nobody here has yet to mention. Newsgroups. They are free most of the time, fast, and totally unmoderated. If you name a song by any artist, there is a 95% chance you can find it within seconds on a newsgroups.
