Let's talk about JerseyArt's return. I swear I saw him posting earlier.

What do you think his handle is? I'd like to say hi.

And what is that Mr. Lestat (Brian)? Is it someone that actually practices what they believe?
read this man... this guys life was totally fucked over by his parents leading him to believe in Jesus

Roommate: (11:48:43 AM): it's probably rooted in my general attitude towards women and sex (30 years of thinking and being made to believe that women (in the church) are some kind of saints only to find out they've been screwing around and hypocritical the whole time)
Roommate: (11:49:11 AM): it has created a very bad attitude in my head towards them and sex
Lestat: (11:49:23 AM): ha yeah... dude people have sex! everyone does basically... and sarah's non mormon, never was
Roommate: (11:49:36 AM): yeah, but it's in general
Lestat: (11:49:39 AM): and there are plenty of guys that play the goody goody role
Lestat: (11:49:55 AM): but in reality they are just doing it to appease certain people
Roommate: (11:49:56 AM): I feel like I've been tricked
Roommate: (11:50:19 AM): tricked to be celibate only to find out they have been screwing around
Roommate: (11:50:35 AM): I have a lot of anymosity about that
Lestat: (11:50:39 AM): well, in some ways you have, I was tricked too dude, my parents told me all this shit growing up was the gospel truth.. that Jesus died for my sins.. that I had to do certain things or I'd suffer for all eternity. Its fucked man, but you gotta move on!
Roommate: (11:51:16 AM): I tend to dwell on these things and get more apocalyptic
Roommate: (11:51:26 AM): i know that's not god
Roommate: (11:51:29 AM): good
Lestat: (11:53:01 AM): its one of those things in society where its just generally accepted to tell children stuff like that.. to basically brain wash them... and for most people, it doesn't hurt much because its all supposed to be "positive" right? the churches and what not out there do all kinds of GOOD things for people on the surface... but what happens when people grow up and are exposed to other cultures and beliefs? They are forced to either accept that what they know is right and everyone else is WRONG and fallen, or worse.. OR they have to realize that THEY were the ones duped up until that point. Either way, its rough.
Lestat: (11:54:31 AM): I think it many ways its similar for you and I, but the BIG difference for me is I started feeling a little weird about my parents and what they were teaching me VERY YOUNG. Like i said, when the neighbor said he could't play karate cuz he was jehovas witness.. that was like 2nd or 3rd grade.. I realized when my parents were calling this little innocent kid down the street a cult member that something was little off.
Lestat: (11:54:41 AM): you didn't really start having those types of thoughts until WAY later in life
Roommate: (11:55:19 AM): yeah
Roommate: (11:55:33 AM): and this late, I often feel like it's too late
Roommate: (11:55:44 AM): like I have to bunker down for the rest of my life
Lestat: (11:56:10 AM): what do you mean by bunker down though?
Lestat: (11:56:13 AM): what does that mean really?
Lestat: (11:56:26 AM): i look at it like this, you've got X amount of years right?? You gotta enjoy it!!
Roommate: (11:56:27 AM): things will stay status quo and I just have to live through it
Lestat: (11:57:42 AM): do things that make you happy, not things that make you unhappy.. easier said then done, but you gotta free yourself from some of the baggage your family burdoned you with... force yourself to move on, be your own person, and be comfortable with it. You've got a good handle on your own thoughts and a good awareness of whats going on around you. Use that to your advantage
Lestat: (11:58:41 AM): and you can always talk to me about whatever, sometimes I get defensive initially.. just a knee jerk reaction.. but you know how my thoughts, beliefs, and that type of thing are constantly evolving.. we are all taking in a processing new information daily.. it changes what we see in the world, what we expect from it, and what we expect from ourselves
Lestat: (11:59:17 AM): You might not have been happy yesterday, but you CAN be happy now.. and tomorrow.. and the next day.. so why not work towards that?
Roommate: (12:02:25 PM): yeah, I agree. The conflict is that I think I need to be in a relationship to survive long term, but I don't really want to be in a relationship
Roommate: (12:02:49 PM): like I'm forced to choose a situation I don't really want to be in
Roommate: (12:03:12 PM): at the same time, when everyone gets married, it all changes, and I miss out
Lestat: (12:03:29 PM): well.. relationships are their own beast. Even for people without religious history and stuff like that. Its work, anyone will tell you that, there are ups and downs. Its not easy at all to find someone you really WANT to spend the vast majority of your time with.
Lestat: (12:04:22 PM): and you don't have to choose any situation... nothing WRONG with being single. Personally, if you asked for my advice, I'd suggest building some closer relationships with females, because I think it teaches you more about yourself and life, and people... and it kinda takes a couple to really get it.
Roommate: (12:05:32 PM): yeah, we'll see. thanks for the advice
Lestat: (12:06:01 PM): and I know a big piece of it is the physical thing...
Lestat: (12:06:06 PM): and physical attraction is big
Lestat: (12:06:22 PM): but when you really get to know someone, other things kinda take over, or become more important
Lestat: (12:06:44 PM): im not saying go date a fat chick or anything like that, cuz you need to be with someone you are PROUD to bring around your friends.. family.. etc..
Lestat: (12:06:55 PM): but there are other things that make people attractive
Roommate: (12:09:37 PM): yeah
Roommate: (12:10:08 PM): I got to run to lunch, thanks for talking
Lestat: (12:10:59 PM): No prob, see ya later

SOrry. I'm too tired to read all of that right now. Doesn't matter anyway. Doesn't change the truth.
