What would you do in this situation?

It never ends. My daughter just informed me that her stepfather told her that I play games with her. She told me that her mom and him are very afraid of me, especially now that I will be living down the street from them. They said that if I ever come near their house, they will sell it and the dogs and move into a little house. He told her that I said I would slice off her mom's nipples and cut off all her hair in order to make her unattractive to him. Can you believe this shit? They are so paranoid and complete liars. She has no reason to be afraid of me and she knows it. I believe she is telling him this shit to make it look like she had an excuse for having an affair and getting a divorce. He also told her that if the alarm goes off in the house at night that she and his son need to get in the closet because whoever comes through the door is going to shot. ( their bedroom door). He said, if ya'll come thru the door ya'll will get shot, so stay in the closet. What in the hell are they afraid of? The alcohol must be getting to them. They keep loaded shotguns on both sides of their beds.

Yes. When she turns 12, which is just a few months away. I had reconsidered and didn't want to do it, but I may have to with the way they are acting. The guy shot himself in the leg with a nailgun last week and had to be taken to the emergency room. Had to have been drinking I would think. He was demonstrating to my daughter that there was nothing to be afraid of concerning the nail gun. He pointed at his leg and apparently thought the safety was on. Could have been my daughter.

I feel for you and mostly for your daughter. No child should have to put up with that shit..........i could not imagine how confused she must feel at times.

If it was me, i would get as far away as possible from them both and let the law deal with my actions........surely they would have no chance of custody given their history.

Just let your daughter know that what they are telling her in untrue and that they should not be saying those things to her, she is a child for crying out loud. And reassure her you will handle it, but try not to put her in the middle anymore than she already is. Thats not something a child should have to be dealing with.

Yes, it really is a no win situation. All I care about is my daughter, their immaturity doesn't bother me, I'm not even angry because I expect this kind of behavior out of them. I'm thinking of just writing them a long letter and asking them to identify any concerns they have so I can address them.
