What will Heaven be like?

I have often wondered what heaven will be like? Will we know our relatives, what will the landscape look like gold, diamonds etc. Will we still have sex?

I can't fathom it. All I could think of when I thought I might be dying the other day, was my family. If my daughter and family are not there with me, I don't see how it can be heaven. I hope there's not a hell and I pray I don't go there. But I can't be a phoney and pretend to believe what I don't know just to try and save my ass. Gotta be real.

Why worry about something that you have no control over? When I die, I will let ya'll know! ;) But seeing as how I am too busy living just now, sorry.... can't help you with that one any time soon!

That's the catch. No one knows what heaven looks like. That is how religion controls their simpletons. You don't know what heaven is like because no one has come back before to tell you. No you don't get to see until you DIE. Typical religious brainwashing. You don't get your reward until you are dead. You can't get it while you are living and enjoy it.

No one knows what hell is like either for that matter.

that's actually referred to as the "Heavens Reward" fallacy. to amass suffering & pain and there will be a big pay-off....

So the pay off is you die. That is your reward so the suffering ends.

Fuck that.

it's something they preach a lot to the less fortunate. it's sad listening to someone look strictly forward to heaven alone......that's why i bang so many single moms. and married. and seperated.

As i said before, why bother wasting time worrying about heave OR hell? Sorta defeats the purpose of living... dontcha think?

it will be a place no one else can speak, but i speak all day long. this will also serve as a place of punishment for everyone else. so it won't be called hell or heaven, but hellen.

Your hell would be exactly that same place

without gas stations

I think the people who are 20's and below are so pessimistic and sullen. It's like that age group thinks that being moody and negative makes them clever.

PBR, I think heaven is what is imagined by each person, so your heaven probably WILL look like that, along with the other things you hold dear. =-)

There was a great episode of the Twilight Zone where a guy dies and is going to heaven and asks who the other people are. The response is that some of them are going to heaven and some are going to hell. But all of them are going into the same little building. When he gets inside everyone is sitting and watching someone elses family pictures slide show. He then realizes that he is actually in hell. One man's heaven is another man's hell.

Cheers,

ha! That's a good one! I used to love Twilight Zone!

I have a simple theory:

1. We die and it's nothingness (I've pretty much come to doubt this, but I'm not very good at taking a hard line on anything).

2. We die and it's much like the movie "Defending Your Life" but without the lawyers and there's no failure.

The concept of Heaven/Hell is mythological propaganda. There is no god, there is no devil, there is no heaven, there is no hell, not in the dogmatic, paradigmed sense. We reincarnate, the energy of our souls is reformed/reused (since energy cannot be destroyed), or we just cease.

Exactly life energy (but not memories) is in some way used again or like a burnt out light bulb, it is just gone. Permanently off.

All those people refraining from trying fun stuff (like anal sex) because they won't get to heaven is just robbing themselves.

All those people with improper subject-verb agreement is driving me crazy...lol. Just bustin' your chops.

Most of the desciptions from people that claim to have seen the other side were
not as specific as described in the religious texts. More like you have a conciousness that knows all, sees all, and is everywhere at once.

i hate these threads. everyone coming off with these concepts, trying their best to appear cerebral & clever. i think you would give better responses after inhaling a can of Glade.

Preception can make whatever picture
the mind desires to see.
Remember this.
In this, lies either Heaven or Hell
as you elect.

Why wait for Heaven?
it is here today.
Time is the great illusion- it is past
or in the future...
