What time do you go to bed?

calveless wonder

New member
usually between 1am-3am, i suck :(

gonna try to get to bed by midnight...but it's hard when you go out and are up to 5am and don't wake up till 1pm at least once a week.
i literally can't do shit if i don't sleep at least 7 hours

how much sleep do you guys get/need?

My schedule is dictated by the 2 y/o dictator running around here....

She's up at 6:30 some days, 7:30 others..... Dad stumbles around like a zombie helping her use the potty, putting a fresh diaper on, getting her dressed, getting her a banana all cut up, and some milk.... turning on some Toons while I make coffee so I can wake up.

My days used to be coffee first, but now the other stuff can't wait. Just ask her.

Damn near impossible for me to sleep bafore 2AM and I get up at five every day without the help of an alarm. I have problems.

7 hours and I'm good but I can survive on 6 but I start to look tired after a while

I go to sleep around 10 on weeknights

weekends I stay up later, but really, I'm usually passed out way before 5 am. More like 1 or 2 am at the latest so Mondays are not too hard

That is because you are picking up dooods on EF all night. Stop that and get to bed.

Unchecked my body will take 8.5 hrs....but i NEED 6.5 hours, and if i don't get it my body shuts off every chance it has - in the car, in class, during meetings. I also have a hard time bringing myself to go to bed, though i have no problems at all falling asleep. Usually i go to sleep between 5-6, sometimes later though. As a result i skipped just about every single class i had as an undergrad, except for exams and labs

you sound like me, but unchecked we're talking 10-11 hours....fuckin blows.
i've spent so much time in my life sleeping (unnecessarily)

i did the same thing in college but i had all late classes pretty much, so it wasn't an issue till the real world came knocking

Last night I was lying in bed for nearly three hours before I fell asleep, and even then only after a heafty dose of melatonin. I really do have sleep problems. I was exhausted yesterday and fell asleep around 9:40....for 10 minutes. Woke up, and was wide the eff awake. On morning when I don't have to be up at five, I can usually fall back asleep...for an hour. I can't remember the last time I slept more than two hours consecutively without waking when I hadn't been out drinking the night before. beats the hell out of me what I should do about it, though.

seein a doc is probly a good start. or getting drunk every night

I hate seeing doctors an until this actually negatively affects me in some way I'm not going to pay one to tell me I'm an insomniac. Even ambien doesn't put me to sleep, it just makes me trip out.

You ever read a textbook on Tax. fuggin hell - you can't fall asleep reading that, there is a profession for you outside of dancing.

Typically around 10 or 10:30 or even earlier some nights. I still work many days on East Coast hours, so I am up and on calls at 5:30ish. If not, I get up early to surf around the same time. My body needs about 5-6 hours of sleep a night. If I get 8 or even 10 I am a complete zombie the next day.

Sleep is Overrated.

Somewhere between 11pm and midnight the following night, depending on how much stuff I have to get done. I average between 1:00-2:00am, and those hours are pretty much my set norm for the past... like, decade.

I have never had problems getting up in the morning (and functioning properly) with little sleep. Four hours of sleep doesn't negatively affect me much, but getting only 2-4 hours will often have my brain making stupid or strange mistakes. Less than 2 hours is only a nap, and I usually require additional naps later in the day to keep some sort of mental clarity. Six to 7.5 hours is optimal for me. For heavy training periods, I need around 9 hours to properly recover my body and CNS.

I guess I'm the exception when it comes to physically running on very little sleep. I'm mentally affected, but I can work a job or something just fine... just not study quantum mechanics or something effectively.

:cow:

i'm in an awesome cycle now. i'm up late because i fell asleep when i got home from work, because i was exhausted. so, i go to bed 1-4 AM, and often have trouble getting to sleep. i get out of bed around 8 AM and go to work...i function, sometimes really tired throughout the day, sometimes ok. but when i get home, i'm fucking tired, so i go to sleep. repeat...

also, last night, i went for a 10k run. got into bed around 1 AM, but i don't think i fell asleep until after 5 AM. got out of bed at 7:40 AM. i feel fucking great right now. fuck.

Ideally in bed by 10PM and up by 5:30AM for a morning work out. Been pulling late nights at the office recently (i.e. leaving around 11:30PM), so hitting the hay around 1AM and getting up at 7:30AM. Having to work Saturdays too so, up by 6:30AM and in bed by 10:30PM. Yup, all work and no play makes this Jerseyrugger a dull (and sexually frustrated) boy, at least for the moment. :xeye:

I think I'll go back to bed... It's 11AM or so... I haven't had more than a few scattered hours of sleep (without any aid) for over 20 years.

I already work in finance.

I usually go to bed between 12am and 1am but don't fall asleep until 2-3am. If left unmolested I will sleep about 6 hours tops but that's in shifts since I can't sleep for more than about 2hrs at a time. As long as I get more than 4hrs I am pretty good.

Cheers,
Scotsman
