I am trying to get my lawn sprayed with pest insecticide shit as I have found ticks on my kids and don't want to deal with having to pick them off of my kids anymore. I hate bugs! So I figure I will get my lawn sprayed and that will take care of shit. I will also mow the grass and add some sulfur somewhere to help deter the little fuckers.

Anyways I call 3 fucking companies.1 in the same city as me and 2 that are fairly local. NONE of these fucking places answer the damn telephone. I get a machine. 1 of the places machine comes right out and says "Here at Blah blah blah you will speak directly to the owner of the company, never with any representatives...etc." NO- really I will speak to a fucking machine! All I want is a fucking live person who will give me an estimate on how much this will cost so I will know which company I want to use!!!!

I don't know...Maybe I am just being bitchy, but I get probably at most one voice mail on my business line. It gets answered damn it! People need to answer the phone and spray my lawn so my fucking kids can go outside, where they belong!!!!

Do what I did, tie the kids to the tree, give them dry food and a bowl of water and when the ticks get big enough cook em up.

Or just spray everything with DDT, that should get rid of the little suckers. (DDT is hard to find anymore, call an old guy he probably has some left in his garage)
 
It's weird but I've noticed you now have to like beg people to do their freaking job, u have to be constantly on them reminding them, calling them, etc

I also hate phones systems that ask you to "say" what you need so instead of pressing 1 for customer service you have to say it out loud :s

Silly dame. Cuz they're 1 or 2 man operations...

and they're out in the field doing their work. Far away from phones. This is common knowledge when dealing with handymen. These guys make little margins as is in this economy, to afford a f/t receptionist just to handle your phone calls.

cellular phones???? Why have a landline if you never answer the damn thing..
I will try to employ these guys and help pay their bills one more time tomorrow if no answer than I must spray myself..Damn kids were pissed cause they could not go out today!


*As for the automated phones I usually scream live agent into the phone and start swearing into it! LMAO imagine being the poor bastard who hears that recording. They prob wonder which meds I have been prescribed and not taken!
 
The companies that take care of lawns around here usually have a huge roster of repeat clients from last year that they tend to first, and this is their busiest time. Like someone already said, it's likely the ones you called were small operations that don't employ a receptionist. Call a bigger company to do it...perhaps a well-known franchise? (not sure what that'd be in your area, but I'm sure you've seen their trucks around town and can figure it out)
 
Although I could very well be wrong, in my area ticks are mostly in the trees and drop down onto you from there so Im not sure how much spraying the lawn will do. Then again the pesticide guys will probably know better than me if you can ever get them on the line. Good luck with that though my friend got limes disease when we were younger and his discription of the 4 inch needle in the stomache on multiple occasions was enough for me to do a once over everytime I got out of the woods.

cuz they're working or on the clock with a client (you want to pay per hour and have the person yapping on the phone?)

Free Market baby. You want a place with a live receptionist, call and use them. Also feel free to pay more. You ever get a live person when u call the govt?
