Thats a tough one because if we secretly arm boats and there are several killings of pirates etc: Dont you think they will just use deadly force the next time. they are doing this due to the economic conditions so, I doubt they are going to stop anytime soon..btw what about the news report that women were lined up on the docks and shores awaiting the arrival of the pirates to marry them.. due to the fact that a few of them have been paid the ransom requested.

FYI, the Brits took merchant ships and armed them with hidden weaponry during WWI. When a U-Boat surfaced and told them to abandon ship before being sunk the military gunners opened up sinking the u-boat.

Companies should arm their boats, and train their crews to use the weapons. As much as sending a battleship out to take down pirates makes for great headlines, it's a drain on the taxpayers. That, or bill the shipping companies for for military protection.

No matter what, gotta start blowing pirates out of the water. When it becomes obvious that pirates are dying instead of getting paid, they will stop trying to be pirates.
