What should I cook

Tonight?

Night before last it was Jambalaya, Last night was baked chicken, garlic mashed potatos, three cheese garlic bread, and fettucini.

You need some red meat baby! :)

How about my personal favorite the ribeye (aka delmonico). . .1 and 1/2" thick. . .grilled. . .outdoor. . .seared on the outside, medium rare on the inside. . .spank it with a little Montreal Steak. . .mmm, mmm, mmm!!

Side: Salad. . .red leaf lettuce, vidalia onion, ripe garden tomato, balsamic vinegar.

Really though some yummy steak, mmmmmmm.
I am about to eat me some roast beef and taters. ok I lie. Maybe just a pint of Ben and Jerry's but the beef and taters do look good

OMG that sound delicious!

I may pull out some deer steak tonight and throw it on the pit, marinate it for a bit and then cook it med well. With a side of spinach salad or red leaf lettuce and sprinkle some almonds on it with a oil and vinegar dressing and some whole wheat freash bread and a nice big ol bottle of shiraz.

OMG... damn... I'm hungry now. :p
 
Fisky can you make Jambalaya with brown rice? Basically is there away to make it healthy enough for someone comp dieting to eat it?

Well, yes you can make it with brown rice, but i'd go with the chicken route instead of what i did (the sausage and chicken) Lemme find you a recipe, its all in the seasoning suga... if thats off then no matter what rice or additives you put into it .. .it will suck. ;)

you wanna know what sucks ass though. It was the first deer killed with my sons new gun he got for christmas. So I kept it in my fridge for my X so that he could mount it. I paid to get all the meat packaged and the sausage and all that good stuff so I got a ton of deer meat.

Kicker is everytime I open my chest freezer to get a package of deer I have a damn deer head staring up at me. :worried: And its the damn deer Im about to eat....

I need to rid that thing of my freezer, seriously... its creepy.

:FRlol: The first one that we bag each year, we bring it home (or to camp. . .where ever we are) hang it up, fire up the grill and start eating it while we're processing the meat. . .to someone from San Fran that scene would probably look a little bizarre but up here in the sticks is SOP. . .different strokes. :whatever:

Gosh.. I loved going to the camp and when a deer came back we would skin it and bleed it and then proceed to cook some very fresh steaks. mmmmmmmmmmm

Oh yeah! But, I have to admit that it's a little primal cooking and eating it while it's still warm. Never bothered me, though. . .just made me feel kind of in tune with nature. . .part of the whole picture. . .in touch with my ancestors.

Country girls rule! Mine's from WBGV.
