What motivates you?

I have tried alot of diets. Ive succeded greatly and failed miserably.

Ive probably dieted 15 times and have succeeded 2 times when my weight loss was more then 15 lbs. Attempt number 16 feels good. I know thanksgiving and xmas are almost here and with that comes food.

I would like to ask you guys how do you do it? What keeps you motivated? I think once i get passed to 1 week mark, the hard part is over, for me anyways.

But today my mother made homemade pepperoni rolls. And yes, I turned them down. I felt good not going to eat them.

I am someone who used to eat fast food twice a day. I love the taste of it and its convienient. Ive been eating it that much for about 8 years, since i was 16. So if i can get passed the first week, i think ill be safe.

I hear yah gordz.

I'm a 35 year old 100% Sicilian and food has always been an issue with me also. I started my life changing diet on 09-15 and have not looked back so far. I grew up in a family that force fed you and your not allowed to leave the table until you cleaned your plate. :chomp:

I do miss my Spaghetti for sure with mom's homemaid pasta sauce with big meatballs and hot sausage :chomp: (sorry) but I finally realized that my health and happiness is more important to a overfull tummy. It got mental for me and I had to eat like crazy to feel better.

I did pass the hump like you said about the 2 week mark and it has become easier and easier as I go along. Im only in 9 weeks so far but I have dropped about 16pds and I feel tremendous. I don't have any desire even for a cheat meal even to this point but I will have a nice thanksgiving dinner with my family but I will not overdue and be sensible. Thanksgiving will be my first technical cheat meal. I find it helpful to respectfully decline someone offering something that you should not be eating. Just tell them that you have been working very hard for months on your diet and it doesn't work with your plan.

Just stick with the same guidelines and eat the lots of the good food and stay away from the crap. I love coming to these forums and ready posts in this section and it really helps me personally. I'm pretty new here but I hope to share anything I have learned from here or the outside and get to know you all.

Ciao Pisan!

Ha Ha.. Yeah, man I miss the pasta big time.. I have been buying the wheat pasta and getting some decent canned sauce and mixing in some nice shrimp. Thats helped me with the pasta part anyhow.

Not much you can do about the bread though.. I could easily eat a fresh loaf of French Bread from the bakery. :Chef:

Here's my journal that I started just to give you an idea of what Ive been going through..

haha, the cheating ex and the women! Hell, thats a great reason! Thats partially my reason as well.

My main reason though is I want to prove to myself I can do this. Im sick of failing.
