What makes you cry (if anything)?

Damn, I almost started crying today when I heard the song This Year's Love by David Gray- good lyrics + melancholy piano chords ='d me holding back tears.
It's strange though, because I rarely cry. Hell, all my family and friends could die tonight, but I wouldn't be able to cry without a song to connect with. Music does it for me if I really think about what the song means, both lyrically and musically.

A couple other ones-

Either Way by Guster
November Rain-GnR
Op.32 No.10 Prelude in Bminor-S. Rachmaninoff

Seeing a child suffer.

Seriously.

Yeah that would probably do it too, but in my case once again, only if I had a song to connect it with.

That one gets me misty-eyed from time to time as well, but the song "America The Beautiful" really tugs at my heartstrings.

Kinda hard to explain why, but in a nutshell...

I spent most all of my childhood around adults, mainly my grandmother who was a WWII POW, and I was raised with a different view of this country than most of my peers seem to have.

That being said, let's just say I love what this country once stood for, but it breaks my heart to see what it's becoming.

I'm very emotional, so many things. People wouldn't know that by looking at me. I cried for the dog tonight. Just for about 2 seconds. I could see that he's lonely and depressed now that my sister is gone and my daughter hasn't hardly been here in 2 weeks.

when bad shit happens to kids, or to innocent people

when people die young

when I think about how lucky I am

Yeah sometimes dogs have shitty lives too.

I know they get lonely ... you can tell because they go apeshit when they finally do get attention.

The last three times I cried:

September 11, 2001---- reason there is obvious

1998?-- opening of Saving Private Ryan, when it shows Private Ryan as an old man with his family going to visit the graves in Normandy. That's the only movie scene that has ever made me cry. I guess because it was something that so many men really did suffer through.

1997--- Our family's kitty died. She had been a part of the family for 13 years.

Some days I wish tears would fall, but they don't. Not much of a cryer.

when there is no more beer in the fridge

Certain emails from a certain person in another state make me almost cry. Mainly because of the "what if we met" history they bring up which can't be helped. (though I hope in the very near future when I do meet this person, this will be resolved one way or another.)

Homeless children.

Dogs chained to trees outside. (that makes me cry and want to kick in the house door and beat the shit out of everyone inside.)

When me and Rhino had a contest to see who could rep out 225 the most in the squat.

Afterword, I collapsed on the ground, grasping for breath, and my eyes were tearing. It was great!

That reminds me of ages ago when the cybergenics programs were advertised with the before and after pics. The workouts were to failure immediately drop the weight, rep to failure, drop again to failure. Keep doing that til you have no weight and are doing deep knee bends to failure. They were intense LOL.
I had my buddy try it and he did and passed out and shit, they called the paramedics and stuff. Quite funny.

I hated that workout. Way too intense and I got weaker. What a crock.

Thinking about all the missed opportunities, how much I wish I could go back and change the way things turned out, watching other people make the same mistakes you did and not be able to convince them of the consequences, Feeling sad and alone most of the time.

i want to make a shout out to Ryan Swanky , me and him were m8s from the age of 8... then when we hit high school we never spoke much untill Xmas time when i spent like 9 hours speaking to him in a bar, it was freaky i had not spoken to him in years, and he gave me his new phone number ect... things were reallykl, and this was on a sunday, and on tht wednesday, it was on the news tht he had a massive car crash, his car slit in 2..and tht he died. now i know tht it could not have been a a painless way to die, but ppl tell me dont think like tht but how can i ??? i use tht at the gym for motivation, cant cry about it though. I want to, im just filled with anger.so i will just take it out in the gym .

Ryan Swanky Died in JAN 2005 at the age of 20

Reading in the newspaper of how some young child died from heat after being left in a car alone. It happens all the time down here. One guy left his two year in the car for 6 hours while he went to gamble at the tracks.

The Cybergenics program was based loosely on the Mentzer one set to failure routine. Though in later years towards their demise they switched to a system of more sets, but only two drops to failure on each set. thing is so many unsold boxes were sitting on the shelf, you could pick up one and get either workout. I think the workout was based on forced overtraining so your body released GH to adapt. Sort of a sink or swim situation for your muscles to be in.

im pretty emotional, songs do it, Im just dreamin by fred eaglesmith gets to me,I him live sat and he got me, other songs do it to,but for the most part when I cry its because Ive let shit build up and I broke down

How much (or little) I squat

movies for me, I rarely if ever cry of pain, but kills me to see anyone suffer. like lacy Peterson's mom, movies that are based on dedication or loyalty like ladder 49, or that frickin notebook movie, shit can you tell me and my GF of 2 yrs just split, where's my hankie?

Being on cycle or off on post cycle, it seems just about anything will gewt me teary eyed. Just last night i was watching something on the weather channel about all these animals that were saved from flooded houses by a man and his wife. We're talkin like 400+ animals. Had to hold back the tears a little. Not like I'd break out in a full out cry, but definately get some tears going. I swear all these damn hormones get me so damn emotional.

What do you mean?

I get choked up if my daughter or wife do, or if they do something that makes me really proud.
Some songs, movies, etc.

My friend went on holiday recently. The last thing his wife did before she left was to put all the house plants in the bath with some water to keep them from drying up. The only problem was that she forgotten to turn the water off.

They received a phone call from their family in the second week of the holiday telling them that they might want to cut their holiday short and sort out the mess.

The water had filled up the first floor running down into the ceiling where it built up until it burst through and ruined everything on the ground floor. What an unbelievable mess it was, no insurance.

If that happened to me I think I'd cry.

My sadest emotions will be shown through my face, sometimes in drops of tears when I see a stranger crying- something seemingly I should have no trouble ignoring of since I have no connection with the stranger whatsoever and yet I am able to detect the sadness displayed on their face without anything I can do for I am another stranger to that stranger too. And I didn't want to appear like a busybody by offering some tissues or words of encouragement.

I am sure I am not the only one that recognizes this.

my daughter bursting into uncontrollable laughter
anything negative that has happened to a child
emotional trauma
losing someone i love beit to death or just different paths in life
old couples (so darned cute)
a sincere, genuine act of goodness towards me
damn at&t commercials (naw, not really)

Dang, i'm a sap.....not much that doesn't make me cry.

Few songs that come to mind:
Who am I-Casting Crowns
Walk a little straighter-Billy Currington
Heaven-Live
Daughters-John Mayor
Love Song- Third Day

There are hundreds of other songs that get me all teary eyed but those pop into mind.
