I voted deadlifts just because of the strain on back and what not. Squats are also rough, but of course a power rack always helps. I too, see spots from lack of oxygen on sqauats.

THE SNATCH, no doubt about it, this has got to be the lift that scares me the most!

I am not a powerlifter, but i have to give it to anyone who has the balls to go heavy on that shit!

without a doubt...db shoulder presses...once you start lifting the 150#'s...my shorts seem to feel a lil' on the wet side.makes me shit in my pants every single time.

Powerlifters don't Snatch. Olympic lifters do. ;)

And deadlifts scare me the most, just because they're so damn intense. Any lift where I'm picking up that much weight could lead to pretty bad injuries if my form is even slightly off.

Okay, maybe "scared" is the wrong word. "Respectful of" is a better phrasing.

Squats are without a doubt the scariest.

It's such a compund movement, with action taking place at so many joints at the same time. Plus, so many muscles are being used as stabilizers...if you're form is off just a fraction you can really hurt yourself. It becomes even more dangerous the heavier you go and the taller you are. A taller person does not have as much leverage and will have a tendancy to bend over more as they lower themselves than a shorter person. This invites serious lower back problems. There are so many places you can seriously hurt yourself if you don't know what you're doing or lose concentration for a second...lower back, kness, upper back...

Plus, with squats, you are pushing the weight through your body. With deadlift, you are pulling the weight (not that deadlifts can't be dangerous however).

squats... that pic also scared the hell out of me that was posted on this thread. I think its the exercise that is the easiest to fuck up and hurt yourself.

I would never do chest without a spot though. I rather do squats without a spot. I don't think you can get a full workout if you do'nt need a little push at the end of your bench press.

after looking at the picture....... squats are the scariest

Stiff-legged deadlifts--dropped 185 lbs on my foot once when I lost my grip on the bar (quit laughing at the weight--I was only 16).
