what is your monthly cost of living?

MattTheSkywalker said:

It totally varies.

I usually will use excess funds to pay off mortgages orother related debts...average?

aim for 10K / month saved

damn, i don't know what line of work you're in, but if you're ever hiring, let me know. :)

1300/month is not pennies, esp. on a military trainee's salary. I know people who make 60k a year who don't save 500/month.

Same here, My old boss and his wife each earned about $60,000 a yr=$120.000.

They are always broke??They have a modest house, modest cars and 3 kids.

I always tell him that his wife has a crack habit on the side or something.(she handles all the money)

Rent $525 (my half of a two bedroom)
Car payment $290 (almost paid off)
Car insurracne $290
Cell Phone $50
My half of the phone and internet $45
Food $100
And people wonder why I have two jobs how could I afford to buy myself new shoes if I didn't :lmao:

holy fuck why is your insurance so high???

You guys have it too easy. I am in for $2000/mo and that is just scraping by, usually way over that. $3000-4000 range. I am in NY too though

Maybe $600 a month. I own my truck. My parents will pay for my car insurance as long as I don't get any tickets (which saves me a lot of money). My honey and I split the rest of the bills except for my cell and internet.

But I'm really hard to pay of the credit cards I ran up when I was 19/20. Over half of my income goes to that....and I should have it all paid off in 12-14 months. I also make myself take money out of every check for savings. I can't wait to be out of debt.

Raina you should not be puttign any money in a savings account whatsoever if you still owe money on your Ccards. Bu paying off your ccards you are effectively "earning" whatever interest rate the ccard cos are charging you, which I GUARANTEE YOU is more than ANY bank will give you on a savings account.

I know it may be hard to understand but trust me. Put every last cent you can spare into paying off those credit cards. You will thank me later.

As for my living expenses mortgage is ~1500, utilities are ~250, I'd estimate food to be in the 300s. Can't remember what my homeowners and auto insurance are right off the bat.

As far as I can work out he earns every penny. Good luck to him.

I like that better than "Emperor in training." :)
