It depends on what im doing, but for cardio and sometimes weights I get pumped up with extremely fast beats (hard house, trance, progressive) there is nothing like over 100 beats per minute to get you pumped up, especially after some sort of stimulant. For regular weight training I usually listen to European hip hop and rap. (Polish, Russian)
Rob Zombie, White Zombie, Black Sabbath, Rammstein, , etc. I went to a 24 hour golds with my wife the other day and they had techno playing! WTF is up with that at a gym?! Then La Bouche came on. My wife wanted to walk out, lol.
I'm guess I'm just different or old, probably both.
I like it quiet, not like dead silence though. I find it harder to get the mind/muscle cordination going if there is are distractions. I have adult ADD and all the sensory input is too much, that may explain it.
