What is your favorite foreign cities?

It rhymes With Amsterdam.
Beautiful city with all the canals.
Huge redlight district. I had to walk through it to go to my pension from train station.

Smoke Shops?
I didn't try. I can't inhale.
I was surprised how tall the Dutch are.
Rembrandt is OK but all that fuss about wooden shoes and windmills was ad nauseum.

Sadly, I've never been outside of North America.
You would like it in Europe, as long as you keep maple leaf prominent somewhere on your bag (they assume anyone speaking non-British English is American).
They hate Americans

Europeans don't hate Americans. They do hate stereotypical ignorant Americans. But then again, so do I.

I'd probably say London. Great people, great city, loads of history, and the best music in the world.

Americans love London because:
They love British accent.
They are obsessed with the Royals.
They don't have to learn/speak a foreign language.

I have visited London more than any other city (unfortunately). I know all the concessions in Heathro Airport.
It is second most expensive city after Tokyo.
It is an industrial city without much attraction and artitecture.
France and Germany are gothic. Italy (rome) and Greece are Classical (greco-roman).
London has no character. Parliament building: Semi-Classical. House of Lords: Gothic. Buckingham Palace: a large, ugly building.
There is more history in rest of Europe, only we don't know that history.

Yes, New Orleans is very nice. Different from most American cities; French quarters, food, music, cajun jokes.
Only city where you can take you drink out.
Millinium new year was a lot of fun.
I have not seen Kona (or Hawai).

1. Ibiza (hands down)
2. Dublin ( all of Ireland really, the most beautiful countryside in the world)
3. Mykonos ( fascinated with Greek Mythology, but also breathtaking)
4. Most all of French Polynesia (friendly people, and the most beautiful beaches in the world)

:)

Why European countries doesn't have big cities with downtowns like our cities? Y'know...a big metropoli with skyscrapers and small cities around to live...

They do have downtown? I've never been in Europe but all I see on TV is ugly old cities with 1000 years old buildings redesigned as an office building, etc...I'd miss our monster highways between big and tall buildings.

tijuana 3for1$ tacos, try them if you go, also notice there are no dogs around, dont know if its coincidental

We have very big highways and a lot of space in Australia too so I can understand where you are coming from. The beaches in Australia are the best I have seen so far.

When I went back to Europe I really felt like I belonged there. The mystery, the environment, suspense, history, gothic, literature, arts, the air, the food, the fashion, the humour made me feel alive.
The atmosphere when I go to a cafe or to a nightclub there is so amazing. People party and behave a little differently there than in Australia and that is ME.

I've travelled throughout Europe, lived in the Pacific as well as traveled through it. I certainly think a lot of cities are beautiful, have a lot to see and offer, and are very unique. When it comes down to it though, as for a city for simply being a city, London is my favorite. The culture, the people, the humor, the wit, the infastructure, the history, the melting pot of cultures, everything.

I don't judge a city based on it's tourist attractions or architecture.

I haven't been to Stockholm but I hear it's absolutely beautiful. My family is from there, so I need to make it.

Prague - by far
Vienna
Florence.

London is not that great. After a few rides on the underground, and walking to meetings there I feel dirty.

I hate to admit it, but the swedes, at least the swedish women are very beautiful. The language, or for me the dialect, is very charming and sexy.

Stockholm in the summer, is a very beautiful city.

I haven't traveled much myself, but I found Paris to be a beautiful city. Filled with history and french people ;) The french women are very elegant and sexy. Their walk, their apperance their very demeanor oozes of passion and grace. If you have a thing for classy brunettes, this is heaven.

I will also mention Prague. Also a very beautiful city, with so many stories to tell. Walking around Prague at nightime is almost like taking a step backwards into time, while still preserving the knowledge that you are in a modern city. I do not know how to explain it properly, but it's a facinating feeling.

I really should travel more. My own hometown is approaching a millennia anniversary, but it does lack the feeling of historic importance.

London, Venice and Sydney.
Venice is beautiful city.
When it became dark, I marked the direction of train station that has the brightest lights in the city.
Then from St Mark's Square, I just walked in the direction of that light. Great way to discover real Venice.

Barcelona is on my list.
Been to Florence once, dying to go there again. Missed some of the renaisance art last time.
Amsterdem is OK. Not very spectacular.
I am an Anglo-hater.

Beautiful Vienna. So serene. Lived there for six months. I have not been to scandinavia beyond Holland. But in rest of Europe, Austrians and Swiss are the most courteous people. And music every where.

Florence: Love renaisance art. It was so pleasant to sit in the outdoor cafe in the main square with the statues in the afternoon and sip capuccino. Offizi was unforgetable. Missed some places so will go back.

Well considering the only foreign country i've been to was(was-lol, I think it's gone now) Haiti, and I hated the entire hellhole, I don't have any fav's.
