What is wrong with my PC??

It just suddenly restarted. Then it takes a long time on the first reboot page. It does the same thing no matter how many times I try to reboot it.

Then is claims that it cannot detect a hard drive.

What is going on?

Sounds like your mainboard is having a bad day.

You may need to crack it open and check all your physical connections.

If it is a more serious problem, your hard drive controller may be going south as well...
