Shit people are more messed up these days.. IMO people are shaped by the atmospheres and influences around them. Recently those influences have been war, killing, and violence. What should we expect?

i agree with this sentiment. remember poink? he was infamous (in my mind) for posting some of the most bizarre, tragic, and disturbing stories one could imagine. his consistency in that regard began to make me angry, because i started to question what kind of sickness was required of a person that he would seem to revel in such depravity. i was irritated by the idea that someone would spread this darkness and negativity around, so that others could be affected by it. there are plenty of others who have done the same thing.
however, i have been compelled to post 1 or 2 threads which were horrific in their own right. i did that because i was overcome by the heinous nature of certain stories, and decided to deal with it by sharing with others. i also have a fascination with horror, tragedy, darkness, and evil. that's a common aspect of human nature, largely because i think it allows people to feel strongly. to feel things that they wouldn't necessarily be able to feel in the immediacy of their own daily lives.
but on the inside, i take these things seriously. it's important to have some line, even if it's one we cross on occasion. as for whether or not others should post things of a tragic or horrific, it comes down to their intentions. if they feel the weight of something, and need to express, so be it. but if they are almost-mindlessly spreading negativity as a means of fighting boredom and are merely saying, "hey, this is fucked up dudes...look!" ... well then, fuck them.

Bs man, you don’t rape a 8 year old innocent child and bury them under rocks in a dump because of a war or violence going on in the world, a little fucking child man. Nothing but Pure evil caused this, demonic shit. I don’t care how horny you are, you’re not going to rape and kill a child to get off. How can you say anything influenced this besides pure evil? Look at the Vietnam War, you take over a village, there are women there that you could easily rape and get away with it, do you rape them? Or does you *conscious* get the better of you? there is right and there is wrong no matter what the circumstances

Is the world worse now? None of us can answer that unless some of you have been around for hundreds of thousands of years.
We are simply more aware of all these tragic and despicable occurrences due to advances in communication technology (phones, newsprints, radio, tv, internet, etc).
Fact is, there is always good and there is always bad, so I doubt one can say that we are "worse" now then in previous generations.
