What is the french curl?

Wyllis

I was just reading an article of Ronnie Coleman and he says that the Seated french curl is one of the best exercise to hit the tricep belly.

What is it?

If you don't know this I hope you are not even close to considering gear. Do a search on the net, there are sites that show most of the exercises out there.
basically it is sitting on the end of a bench with a french curl bar and sort of doing seated skull crushers

I dont see how me asking what a french curl has got to do with how advanced I am.

For you information I 209lb at the moment with 8 percent bf.

I have just never heard that exercise called a french curl. I understand that its like a lying tricep extension only seated. Or a skullcrusher or a french press.

It threw me a little when it was called a curl and it was used for triceps.

Are french curls more effective than skullcrushers for triceps? Or are they just different versions of the same basic excercise?

Thanks,
Joker

Nothing wrong with your question bro, it's not a commonly used name in some areas.

French Curl ( Lying Triceps Extension): Always Use a spotter when performing this exercise. Muscles Targeted: Upper Arm - triceps brachii

Þ Lay on a flat bench with head, shoulders, and buttocks flat on the bench and feet flat on the floor.

Þ Grasp curl bar with a overhand grip, position straight in the air and parallel to each other.

Þ Slowly lower the bar to forehead keeping arms parallel to each other and perpendicular to the floor.

Þ Keeping arms in position, push the bar up until elbows are fully extended.
