What is the "actual" benefit for taking ZMA?

What is the significance of taking ZMA? Does it help with strength, cutting, bulk, a mixture, what?? I've have taken ZMASS before and did not really notice anything except that it gave me some fucked up wierd dreams. Should I bother again with this stuff? If so, what brand do you guys recommend?? Thanks.
 
If you are deficient in these minerals than your test levels will not be as high as they could be. Helps normalize the deficiency. The better quality sleep while on it may help with recovery as well. I like it. It is cheap when I make it myself so I think it is worth the money
 
The only immediate benefit I notice when taking ZMA is that I fell asleep easier and I woke up with some serious morning wood.
 
i just started taking it, the only thing i noticed was i get really relaxed, then sleepy, and bam im out. I also wake up in the morning really refreshed, kinda like i had a really good night of sleep.
 
magnesium alone is a great muscle relaxant..... just that and helping you obtain better sleep is a great way to get that nice lil Gh output over the long term rather than crappy in and out sleeping...your body has sleep cycles for a reason. THen the highly absorable form of zinc does make up some defeciencies....lil fact that a guy lose about 10 mg of zinc everytime he nuts if a lil reason to take zinc haha. I couldnt stop laughin when i heard that, but its true. Not enough zinc equals not enough test production....also prostrate probs if our DHT to test ratios are off.......
 
i also think that zinc lowers estrogen levels
 
The theory that zinc causes increased testosterone product first started when it was noted that athelets (specifically college football players) who had low test levels tended to have lower levels of zinc in their body. Supplimenting extra zinc in their diets brought their test levels back into the normal range, in some cases. This makes sense... zinc is important to testosterone production. However, having above average zinc levels will not increase test production. If you have a good diet, and use a mutli vit/mineral you will be fine. ZMA is an example of a total rip off suppliment (around 70-80% of supps are). If you wish to increase testosterone production without drugs here is what you need
1) FISH OIL (minimul of 6 grams a day)
2) mono-unsaturated fats (natural peanut butter and olive oil are your best choices
3) include more beef and or fat containing dairy products in your diet
4) make certaing that 25% or more of your calories come from fat
5) fill in the gaps in your diet with additional veggies and use a multi-vitamin
6) train using heavy compound movements frequintly

Judo Tom: zinc will not lower estragen levels. Bear in mind, that unless you are one of the few rare individuals who do not produce the aromatase enzeme... your estragen levels will generall rise a little of your body begins to produce more testosterone. Thems the breaks
 
do i need to not drink milk before i tak it? wtf i am tryng to bul here so does taking millk cuz it to fuck it up or something?
