What is love?

Chef, that was wonderful! I hope to have that feeling for a child of mine one day.

And my two cents.....I believe love is both a feeling and an action/decision. True love, imho, requires the latter but lends the former at times. True love is sacraficial and thus requires decision/action.

Why do people insist on defining it? Feeling it is what counts.

That idea is too reductionistic. You can't reduce love to neurochemistry any more than you can reduce chaos theory to 'numbers' or word processing to 'logic gates'. Love is partly neurochemistry but mostly a mutating social construction - social software running on human machines (including neurochemistry).

right...but if you raised a child in isolation wouldnt it still feel the need to be "loved"...
