There is one thing when doing this i would like to add is u should follow the applications taught by your instructor but also use free thinking in techniques to see varitions not given. It's better to be a thinking fighter than a rep robot which will help your kata analysis. This also stops the method of that is common in mcdojo that use kata as they say a warm up exercise.
