What Injuries Have You Witnessed at Your Gym...

I saw a guy get knocked out by the lat pull bar. As he was pulling down the cable broke and the bar hit him on top of his head. At least it wasn't his fault.
 
i hear when people do that behind the neck, that kills some dudes.....

my gym has a hollow metal bar and a solid metal bar...i dont know why people persist in using the hollow one, maybe im not clued up on something.

a very embarasing one for me (my first time in the gym ever)...i stuck weight on the smith machie and tried to bench it, it landed on my chest, my friends phone went of, he answered it while i was stuggling for my life.....he realised soon enough though :)

I was working out at my loacal college gym with my buddy and he was doing lat pull downs the cable was frayed very badly and cut his head open like butter.Cheap ass equipment.:rolleyes:
 
there was once this girl who was running on the treadmill and listening to her walkman... well the walkman was rested on the treadmill and it fell off and tripped her up and she fell off the treadmill and banged her leg and needed 3 stitches... unfortunately i witnessed this too closely... it was me... about 10 years ago when i was in highschool...

i now have a fear of walkmans and treadmills... won't go near either... (revolving doors too, but that's another story :) )


now that i've shamed myself completely i will leave for work :)

but in my defence it wasn't as bad as this girl who i saw running and fall off and her chin just kept bouncing off the machine... about 10-15 times...bangbangbangbangbangbang...lol...i felt soooo bad for her...i just went off to the side in a heroic dive to save my BBD or whatever crap i was listening to ;)
 
one time i was sitting a 55lb dumbell bacl on the rack and my little finger got in the fucking way...i had too get 5 stitches and i fractured my nuckle!!!!!....
 
I've seen many Treadmill launches.
Usually happens when someone drops the walkman and instinctively stops running to pick it up.
Zing.. Off the back they go.

Best one was when this kid about 14 or so gets on the treadmill and is standing on the side rails. He cranks it up to Max speed and thinks he is gonna jump into this thing from the sides. The instant one of his feet hits the speeding tread, he is launched backward and hangs horizontal still hanging onto the handrail. The other foot comes down and he can't hang on lands on his stomach and is thrown off the back like a catapault. Unfortunatly there is a low wall about 2Ft high and 2 feet behind all the treadmills and he is jammed up against this wall and the speeding tread. Skinned him up real bad...

I'm really amazed I don't see more kids bust ass in the locker room on the wet tile. They are always running around in there, especially now since schools out...
 
These two 15 year old, panty-waste, pretty-boy, wife-beater wearing bench press warriors loaded up the bar with 2-45's on each side. Now, we all know that 225lbs. is not sissy weight. I have just started doing this for reps and I have been working out for about 3-4 years.

So, when I saw these guys load this weight up, I was very interested in seeing if, in fact they could do it, or they were just trying to look tough in front of all of the girls.

The one guy lays down underneath the bar, but there is one, minor problem: these two brainiacs forgot to put the collar locks on the bar.

So when the kid finally pushed the weight up, it fell straight down on his chest and the weight wobbled from one side to the other. As it did, all four plates came falling off.

And wouldn't you know, one of those 45's fell directly on top of pretty-boy #2's foot. He did all he could to hold back the tears but he started crying. The whole gym was looking at them because they made a lot of noise during this whole incident. I don't know how the kid is today, becuase I have never seen them in the gym again. I almost shit my pants when I saw this, even some of the big guys were laughing at them.
 
Here's what I did monday.

I was doing some close grip bench. I had 25 and 5 on each side or so i thought. One side had the 5 and one side did not. I kept wondering why the damn weight was so hard to control and why I couldnt get my shoulder blades into the padding properly. Then I realized. So then I go up in weight to 115, I do like 6 reps and then my triceps just give out, out of nowhere. I yell for someone to help me. So this hot girl came over to rescue me hahah.
 
I injured myself trying to avoid injuring an idiot stupid enough to walk next to me while I was doing cleans. Put me out for a good two weeks. Next time, he tastes iron.
