What impresses you

Does it take a 300lber at 3% BF to impress u guys? or like a 500lb bench? sometimes when i read some posts, i feel like the only thing a lot of people here like or are impressed by are monsters. But i'm sure there are a lot of people here as well who are impressed by someone who simply has the dedication to train, diet and end up with good healthy body. And don't flame me cuz u think i like sissy bodies, I think Brad Pitt and such look like 10 yr old girl, i'm saying Im more impressed with a athletic look such as some pro wrestlers like the Rocks new lean physique or Benoit or of course HHH, these guy can really move.

Diffrent things impress me for diffrent reasons. Arnold was impressive basically be cause his proportions and asthetics. Ronnie Coleman is impressive becasuse he is just so damn freaky. Also power lifter's are impressive when they can sometimes bench 500lbs. and only weigh 190lbs. Some peoples transformations they make from a 150lbs rail to a 250lbs. monster is also impressive.

as my old booty call in highschool used to say, "diffrant strokes for diffrant folkes"

my grandpa used to say that but i think he had a totaly diffrant meaning for it!!

Intensity and desire for me...I have seen some very overweight folks in the gym busting their ass everyday....6 months later they look completely different, my hat goes off to them

On the same note, I've seen people in the gym in already decent shape, and have stayed at the same level for years simply because they lack the desire to push it further....

big guys are impressive, but the most impressive person ive seen weighed about 200 and had impressive "detail" wasnt even that big just looked good. i do get a little impressed when i see small guys bench heavy (and do it correct of course)

someone who makes and meets goals.... and then sets new ones and meets those goals, etc, etc.. that impresses me.

I see something every week at my gym that impresses me and that is world strongman competitor and probably the strongest guy in Canada Grant Mcrenolds he is about 320 at around 12%bf and is the strongest dude i have ever seen in my life.He placed 13 in the world strongman finals in 2001.

If you want to know what realy impresses me it is the type of guy that doesnot talk alot. The kind that works his ass of in 1-2 hours in the gym. The type that lifts as heavy as his frame allows him too. The guy that has the fire in his eyes yet is respectfull to others..

I admire respect and love for the sport. Lifters who respect the gym they lift at, respect the people around him/her in the gym, respect those who know things about lifting or bb that they don't. i.e always repsect your elders in the gym or else where. Repect the kids who are trying to learn and take the time to teach them something. Respect for diet and proper form. Lifters who train hard, no matter what. Lifters who pays their dues, and still acts cool. Lifters who trains legs like an animal. I admire the Lifters who live for lifting no matter what their goals are, it's just in their blood, it's a way of life.

People who, through disciplined, and inteligent training and
dieting, succeed in improving their shape impress me a lot.

They are so rare. The most sign up, train more or less regularly,
but you never see them make progress, thus they do something wrong.

I am impressed by people who don't apologize for who they are.

You'd be amazed at how many people feel "repentent" after transforming their bodies in the gym, and try to undo all the "damage" they've done by changing their bodies back to where they started.

There is a lot of pressure to conform. Those that don't conform impress me, as long as they don't go to the extreme of bullying people or acting like wackos.

I am also pretty easily impressed by people who dress well - especially women.

I personally don't give 2 shits what someone looks like or what weight they put up. If they are dedicated and bust there ballz in the gym to try and improve then I respect that. That is all you can ask of a person, do your best and you'll reap the benefits

no joke, I am impressed by the people who can stick to a GOOD diet. If the person has a cheat day, they just barely cheat out of fear that they might cheat too much. I have tried strict diets and not so srtict ones. I never last longer than a month or two.

To see sombody in the gym thats 135 or 235lbs training as hard as they can.
More impressive to see a 150lb dude deadlift 225 if its balls to the wall then to see a 230lb dude pick up 500 if its not 100% intense.
Yeah!

I am most impressed by people who have gorgeous faces and phenomenal physiques and still act human ... you know, polite, respectful of others, supportive, down-to-earth.

Attitude is the biggest turn-off there is.

I agree with Mustang on this one. Not everyone can/will/want to be ripped, or huge or able to bench 500#'s, but yet they still work their asses off the accomplish what little bit they can.

The most impressive guy I ever saw at the gym was a paraplegic. He would come in 4 - 5 times a week. Work out with free weights and never once ask anyone to help him with anything.

He was truly dedicated.

Saw a dude weighing about 180 do three full range medium grip pullups with a 100 pound plate hanging from his belt. I was impressed.

im looking good now but can only bench my bodyweight...does that mean im weak? BTW, im 80KG and before the var was only doing 60KG :) 8 weeks ago... yay for var.

So you're saying my 280 may be a little much. I've got really cool looking biceps though.;)
