Hi let's say you train at home. and you use dumbells. what if you improve on squatting and end up having to give up dumbells since there is no more space to add weight to them? I cannot see myself lifting a 70-80kg barbell with weight on my back squat with it and put it back gently on the floor (i cant even get it off my back after 8 heavy reps!). + it would hurt my back in the first place.
