WHAT DOES "BLOG" MEAN

i think its like a diary that you keep online and people that you choose, can read it or something right?

and when i first heard the word blog i thought of that movie "the blob" lol

It's basically an online diary where people can spout whatever they want about whatever they want. They then put links to their mates' blogs and everyone's happy. Apparently, some are very popular along the lines of street-corner pundits. Think of it as home journalism gone wild.

glad to know i am not the only one who is suddenly seeing this everywhere. i am not a young kid and not up on the latest hip slang.

It's annoying when something has passed you by. When you try to do a search for it, everywhere assumes you already know lots about it. I remember looking up blog. It took a while before I found that it was web log.

You're really in for it when somebody brings up Podcasting.

Another side effect of blogs was that they caused havoc with Google searches for a while. Since so many of them cross-link each other and Google used to rank importance by number of incoming links, the blogs were dominating the first few pages of many searches. I've no idea what changes Google made to restore its own usefulness and ignore the blog noise.

Blogs are fun to rant about this and that, kinda like posting stupid stuff on here ....

I use a blog to keep my fitness day to day stuff updated ....

No biggie. She's an angst ridden teen. Been there.
I have no illusions that we're her favourite peeps right now. It's a pattern that, I think, most people go through at that age. We get along & everything, but, there's still a distance.
