What do you think of Al Franken's new Radio Talk show?

Well, I listened to 20 minutes of it and already lost interest. I would be surprised if this lasts 2 months. Basically it is a bunch of libs spouting useless rhetoric with no facts to back it up.... fun stuff for a laugh.

eh, i dont really agree. You just condemned casualbb for saying the same thing about rush (spouting opinion as fact).

What sucks about this station is all they talk about is Iraq and the Iraq war. Not all of us liberals care taht much about the war or were opposed to it. They virtually never talk about healthcare, education, the working poor, minimum wage, international relations, human rights, and the 50+ other topics that 'liberals' care about. they just obsess on Iraq.

I like their slogan though. "The radio station Rush Limbaugh would listen to if he hadn't lost his hearing from drug abuse"

I think the reason that Conservative Talk Show Hosts get so much audience, is because they make people think that it is possible to have a 1950's-esque sociey, with no crime, drugs, where every man works, and women stay home with the kids. Many people like that idea, and flock to the people in whom they feel want to provide it--at least from 12-3PM that is. That is the angle Conservatives work, where in my opinion, Liberals try to tell you how things reallly are, and decide what logical solutions we can provide to solve them.

huh?! tell what like what is???

I don't know if you actually listen to Rush, but he always backs up bold statements with hard facts.

As for what I hear on Airamerica (Iraq right now), I hear people calling Bush a liar for invading Iraq for WMD's. Meanwhile every intelligence agency in the world agreed that they had them. Saddam actually thought he had them and he was being lied to be his own men.

I would like to hear what the plan is for Healthcare, Social Security etc... but all I hear is Bush hate. It gets really old.

I occasionally listen to Rush. O'Reilly is more likely to use facts to back up his opinions, Rush seems more like he just wants to justify his philosophy.

True. Both parties do that, denounce the other instead of actually giving the american public a plan on what they stand for. At least bush has tax cuts, the liberals pretty much have nothing but 'i told you so' and 'we hate bush'. They should at least talk about minimum wage & healthcare, people care about that stuff.

A lot of those seem to be quibbling. I am sure anyone that talks 4 hours a day makes a few mistakes. Nothing here was bold faced lies.

OH God... now Airamerica is talking about outsourcing.... snore.....

LIMBAUGH: "It has not been proven that nicotine is addictive, the same with cigarettes causing emphysema [and other diseases]." (Radio show, 4/29/94)

REALITY: Nicotine's addictiveness has been reported in medical literature since the turn of the century. Surgeon General C. Everett Koop's 1988 report on nicotine addiction left no doubts on the subject; "Today the scientific base linking smoking to a number of chronic diseases is overwhelming, with a total of 50,000 studies from dozens of countries," states Encyclopedia Britannica's 1987 "Medical and Health Annual."

LIMBAUGH: "Anita Hill followed Clarence Thomas everywhere. Wherever he went, she wanted to be right by his side, she wanted to work with him, she wanted to continue to date him.... There were no other accusers who came forth after Anita Hill did and said, 'Yeah, Clarence Thomas, he harassed me, too.' There was none of that." (TV show, 5/4/94)

REALITY: Hill could not have continued to date Thomas, since they never dated. Two other women, Sukari Hardnett and Angela Wright, came forth in the Thomas case with similar charges.

Im sure theres more

Peopl who listen to these shows, and are just spouting what they hear on them, are uneducated, easily-manipulated people. It's all a matter of who gets to them first as to what they do or do not believe. If you can't decide on situations for yourself, and need these people to do it for you, then you have no right to voice any opinion, as it is simply a regurgitated one. I don't listen to any of the idiots MOSTLY because they are almost all Conservatives, whom I really disagree with on about every topic. In my opinion, Sean Hannity is the worst one though. He follows Bush like Goerbels followed Hitler.

I can understand where many conservatives are coming from on many issues but Sean Hannity gets under my skin as well. He is virtully mindless and annoying.
