What do you take if you absolutely have to stay awake for an extended period of time?

I have a lay over that will be longer than 7 hours. I can't leave the airport because I don't know anyone around there and staying alone in a hotel in the vicinity of this airport is a sure way for a girl to get raped. Seriously! I will be staying at the airport until my next flight. I can't fall asleep because I fear someone will do something to my baggage which I will have with me since I will be boarding a completely different airline. In total I will be awake for over 24 hours before I board my next flight. What can I take to stay awake?

Take ECA or methamphetamine, also some Adderall if you can obtain it.

Failing that, try some coffee......3-6 cups.

Is there anything else aside from coffee, ECA or whatever the other stuff you mentioned was? I don't drink coffee. ECA makes my heart feel like it's going to beat out of my chest. I can't handle it.
 
Adderall is a good choice. That and lots of strong coffee,,as DIV suggested.

Meth as in the illegal substance? Adderall? I have no idea what this is but I'm assuming it's a prescription drug. I don't want to take something illegal to stay awake.

Ephedrine is a precursor to Meth....so calm down on the illegal talk.....

Adderall is a prescription drug, but it serves it's purpose: staying awake.

Yep. The only thing over the counter is just caffiene pills babe...sorry. That is like saying "Hey what can I get over the counter that will make me huge and ripped?" Illegal/prescription drugs. Adderall is your best choice. Its easy enough to get.

Division is right its 200mgs of caffeine.

not much more to choose from, except have a big guard dog on a lease.

Espresso with sugar (real sugar) - a lot of both with alternating glasses of water.


If the caffiene doesn't work, you'll be peeing so often you won't be able to fall asleep anyway.

Coffee. It's a simple fix that always works for me. I take in large quantities for extended periods of time on those work days that extend 16-18 hours.

Hell at least it's cheap.

I've never taken a full dose of ECA. It is half the dosage that makes me feel like I'm going to die. I describe as being on speed or some other kind of drug. Not that I know but I imagine it feels like that.
 
I think what he was asking si which airport in this country is so dangerous to leave that a girl can't go to a hotel without a fear of being raped?

I wouldn't say the airport itself is dangerous but the vicinity sure is. I have seen bums inside this airport before though.
 
Nope, I was just curious maybe there is a trusted bro from this site that could help you that lives near that airport. But maybe thats sketchy to...Just a thought....

I once was stuck at Newark airport for like 5 hours...I took my ass to a bar and drank while watching tv...

plus..the air conditioning was set so low I shivered, which kept me awake.

Yes I do fall asleep very easily. When I'm tired, I'm tired and not much keeps me awake. But my blood pressure is better. It's a little more normal now. I ended up finding out I have vitamin B12 and folic acid deficiency anemia.

I'm not going to ask you what airport you're at, but I have traveled quite a bit and have not come across an airport that let's people without tickets or passes past the carry on screening.

I was stuck in LAX for a few extra hours on my way back from Japan. Once I got there I had to wait in the ticketing area for 2 hours. I took my bag, put my foot through the strap, so if it were touched I'd know it. Set my alarm on my watch, cell phone, and had someone call me at a certain time, then racked out for a few hours.

so does my Gf, her hands are dead cold 24/7. Don't sit for long periods of time. You on a laptop? I am sure people on EF can keep you awake. If you really can't take it anymore, spray cold water on your face and neck. Find someone to talk to. Do something that keeps you busy. I have heard a lot about girls getting raped in hotel rooms.. so i understand why you are not in one. I spent 12 hours at a airport once, but japanese are nice and smaller so you don't have to worry about falling asleep.
 
Why don't you just go sit by the metal dectectors...mention to a security guard that you have trouble staying awake, ask him if he will watch over you from time to time.

either that, or just go past the security to where your flight is going to be boarding in 7 hours....camp out there. I'm pretty sure they don't let bums and shit past the security points.
 
I do realize that. But I'm not having a lay over for a connecting flight. I was originally flying into this airport where my bf was going to pick me up. But since we're now going to his mother's house and he will already be there I have to fly from this airport into an airport in Canada. So I'm flying two different airlines. I get there at 10:15pm and fly out at 1:15pm the next day. So well over 10 hours. Certainly I can't go to a ticketing booth that far in advace to check in. I won't have a boarding pass to get into the secured area. I will have to sit and wait in the outside part where non-ticketed people can hang out at. This is the part where I've seen bums at before. So I'll be hanging out with the bums, hoping I don't fall asleep.

Add a source of choline (lecithin/phosphocholine or alpha-gpc) and tyrosine
^^consume all that with coffee.

I would get something for a come down though (not with modafinil though) like maybe benzo's or opiates along with NMDA-antagonist, otherwise might lapse into a heavy depression after heavy mental exertion :o

I had that for years until recently. The doctors always thought I had iron deficiency anemia. For two-three weeks now I don't have freezing cold hands, and I'm not always freezing either. She should see the doctor could be she has the same thing which is easily corrected by taking some vitamins.

When/will your b/f be meeting you there? Perhaps he could get to the airport early, meet you at luggage claim, and stay with you while you get some sleep.

Don't worry too much about the bums soliciting. Security is quick to kick mother fuckers out. The only people you have to worry about are the damn religious zealots who try to convert me to some crazy ass religion. They get to go there for a predetermined amount of time. They're only dangerous to themselves with their mouths when talking to me, and that's b/c they bother me.

Seriously, though, if the above is a little much, then tell your doc the situation and maybe you'll get some ritalin or adderall.
 
Check your baggage with the airline and go to the counter and ask to be let into their 'lounge', explain your situation and your fears. They will let you in, you can sleep and they will even wake you in time for coffee before your flight.

Unless you are in the Dem. Rep. of Congo or flying some shit airline.
 
psuedoephedrine hydrochloride will do, and its otc. it wont make your heart bounce out of your chest either. 60-90mg will keep you awake quite nicely, although staying next to the security guard station is a commons sense approach
 
Purchase a membership for an airline executive lounge / club. I used to travel a lot for work and it was the best $$$ I ever spent. You will be safe and comfortable and if you they will wake you up if you fall asleep. If I were you I'd find out what airlines have lounge's at this airport and then contact those airlines about a membership

I would say Airports are about as safe as they come. Find the security office, and fall asleep on their doorstep. :)
 
if tyhey're two seperate flights -- you will probably have to leave, go to ticketing and re-enter.

even if you didn't -- when you leave and come back, go to ticketing to get your new boarding pass for the next flight.

Not like it says that if you leave the gate area it automatically invalidates your flight!
 
I have *tied* to sleep at the airport (DIA) overnight before since i had a 5 am flight
and couldt just cuz something was always going on over the intercom system
"Your car will be ticketed and towed" every fuckin 10 min..
 
Good news! I don't have to hang out at the airport overnight. My boyfriend didn't know until today that I had a 10+ hr. lay over until today. He flipped out when I told him today. Which was why I didn't tell him before. He is having his friend pick me up. His friend is letting me stay at his house overnight and will drop me off at the airport the next day. Thank goodness!
 
I can't imagine how hard it will be to stay awake at your friends house. What with beds, couches and all that stuff around.
