Or what are you in school for? Right now I'm a Real Estate major and was going to shoot for an agent job in NY or Hartford (laaaassst choice) when i graduate. Lately I've been checking into going for my MBA (Harvard, Columbia, NYU, Yale, Upenn) but am not sure exactly what area to get into? What do you boys do for your cash??

I won 500 bucks w/ online blackjack...then I lost a grand the next day. Why the fuck did I trust that game?!

I pimp out he-shes to board members here. Big Buck and TD are my biggest clients so if you need any recommendations on a man-ho check with them.

I should have known I wouldn't get any serious replies...what was I thinking? At least Winny Fan could post some hilarious shit to keep me laughing....
;)

I hustle hot dogs, italian sausages, polish sausages, and triple threat meal replacement shakes out of a little deli truck/roach coach right in the parking lot of various go-go bars.

I also have a car wash where some of the guys deal dime bags, and run numbers on sporting events, that i get a nice percentage of.

Not to mention i have a piece of a construction company and waste management operation. I'm also active in unions.

damn, no investment bankers/mergers and acquisitions/venture capitalists out there? Trying to tell me business guys don't workout??

FINANCE MAJOR IN COLLEGE.

I HAVE MONEY IN THE BANK, LIVING OFF OF THAT. EVEN IF THERE WERE SOME HIGH ROLLERS IN HERE, IF THEY DID IT ILLEGALLY, THEY WOULDNT SAY.

no need for it to be illegal to be interesting, just curious what everyone was up to.

Winny- aren't you doing some serious finance shit up in CN?

Technical Specialist for an internet retailer. It sounds more impressive than it really is. Mostly I sit at my desk and post to this board all day. But it does pay my rent and car payment.

I sell Real Estate in the Delray Beach, Boca area. I Concentrate mainly on waterfront properties. Dont let anyone tell you you cant make money in Real Estate. Put it this way I used to work for Merrill Lynch but make much more doing this and have a more fun job. I could never have a salaried job, and I dont have to worry about being laid off. The negative is that to be successful you do work your ass off.

i own a detail business and just started working at a strip club:)

I go to HS and love off my parents, but got more than plenty in stocks and in the bank of my own money to live on for a few years :D

raise & breed roaches.........run a pest control company on the side.

FLORIDA GUY

I WILL MORE THAN LIKELY BEING WORKING FOR MERRIL LYNCH WHEN I GRADUATE. AND I'M ALSO LOOKING INTO GETTING INTO REAL ESTATE IN THE NEXT TWO YEARS OR SO.

Looks like when I graduate I might hit one of those 18-24 month rotation jobs at a company like Cigna, Citicorp, United Technologies, etc. then go back for my masters and try my hand at the investment banking/corporate finance world.

You majoring in Real Estate?
Commercial or Residential?
Hmm.

I'm in NY and have a Broker's Lic. that I haven't put to good use in a few years - other than trying to keep up with the Continuing Ed. credits. I didn't have to go to college for it though. I took the salesmen's course and state test- worked for two years sold like a madwoman, took the Broker's course and state test and well it's all history now. (CRAP that reminds me I have till Oct to get 2o or so credit - UGH!)

I went back to my orginal field of Interior Design (please don't call me a decorator... ) and enjoy it even though the clients will on occassion drive me insane. One day, in a semi-ideal world I will will merge the two fields into one business - separate yet side by side.

velvett- It's technically a finance major w/ concentration in RE, I would go commercial if I decided to be an agent/broker one day. I always told myself I would rather work for myself (ie RE sales or brokerage) than work for a corporation but lately I'm getting lured by higher profile corporate finance jobs in NYC. Of course, the firm I'm working for this summer has an office in NYC and they specialize I believe in large scale office leases. They are Colliers ABR, and a couple of their agents pulled in million dollar commissions a year ago with one deal.

You live in the city? When you worked in RE was it in the city or in surrounding counties? I'm curious how you found the work, people, and setting.

Ah, that's sounds interesting!

If I would do it again I would head that way too.
I've done a few commercial leases and a land, building, lease dealie but I was in residential not commercial.

Used to live in the City but I moved out east and worked in eastern Lond Island with the real estate.

I like real estate and I would do it again, commercial or residential. I would recommend it to someone if they are a leader type of personality and don't need to wait around for someone else to tell them what to do. You need a streak of hustler and charmer in you while being sharp and up to date on what is going on.

You can make a lot of money in real estate but there are no guarantees and you will be working and hustling a lot but you make it what you want it to be.

The best part about my experience in Real Estate was learning how to write up a binding (what is really binding anyway?) contract/lease and how to read one.

Property Management is hell.

Anywhooo, I'm babbling.

GOOD LUCK!!!

:D

I collect cans

Just kidding. I Run a nude steakhouse. All my waitresses are nude. The customers seem to like this as business is good.
