What do you guys do if you get sick while on????

I would never go to the gym and try to tough it out. That wouldn't be cool if I spread germs and got other members sick. So I usually stay home until I feel better. If it's just a light cold and nothing serious, I try to stay active at home by doing light treadmill work and stretching. Maybe pump up my body with some light dumbbell movements, etc. Just to keep the blood flowing. And remember, the more you rest, the quicker you get better. Your body has a tough enough time fighting illness, let alone fighting illness and trying to repair your muscles.

That's very considerate of you. I wish more people were like that.

You have no idea how long he's contagious. There is a difference between a system that is taxed by illness and being taxed by a self-inflicted shitty work schedule.

ok. . .so ask the medical peeps around here. . .there's enough of them. you're the one that brought up the whole "taxed" thing anyway. . .i just pointed out that many of us are taxed most of the time anyway. . .and, while my work schedule is definitely self-inflicted, i don't see it as shitty. . ."profitable" is the word that comes to my mind :whatever:

Best bet is rest and not do weights or cardio. You'll get better faster and your workouts may suck if you hit the gym while you're sick. Tough to do but that's the deal.

To Prevent Getting Sick G-covery helps ALOT

it is at www.Amplify02.com

Glutamine is the prefered energy source for the immunue system, In fact its preferred over Protien, Carbs, fats, or any other enrgy source.

G-covery is a very bioavalable form

Supplementing with it, is like a fast pass to assure immune health, not to mention other benifits such as Nitrogen retention.

If it is the flu, I stay at home and rest and drink a lot of fluids.

If it is a cold, i'll go to the doctor or clinic and get a Rx for antibiotics. If I have a fever, i'll rest it out until it goes away. If no fever is present, i'll hit the gym, but i'll keep it light, simple and quick. Same as the flu....lots of rest, sleep, antioxidants, and fluids, etc.

if its a flu, take time off completely -- dont even think about cardio, i used to be a distance runner and training while you're sick is beyond pointless.
if its mono, parvo, any of the illnesses that will last awhile, come off the gear, run the pct....feel better, train light..in a few months go at it again.

This is great advice and is what was recommended to me earlier this year when I got sick on cycle.

My personal take is to take a day or two off to heal and speed recovery. What's a couple days when you could be less than 100% for several weeks?

Antibiotics are for bacteria infections and will not do you any good for a cold, which is a virus. If your doctor is giving them to you for a cold I would switch doctors.
