What do you do when....

you see people at your gym that are too lazy to clean up after themselves? I am tired of watching people put weight on machines, do a set or two and simply walk away. The trainers that work at the gym don't seem to care too much, but the women and other members wanting to use the machines sure do. This upsets me for a couple of reasons; I don't want to put away their weights, people (me) think that someone is still using that piece of equipment since there is still 315 lbs on the bar, and the lack of common courtesy probably bothers me the most. I have done my fair share of pulling plates off of benches and machines so women won't have to. Everyday I notice it more and more and my fuse seems to be getting shorter. It is usually the big guys and the high school athletes that come in as groups that do it most often. The gym has multiple posting about returning weights when finished, but I guess people don't go to the gym to read.

Rant over....well, until I workout tomorrow.

ill always take the weights back down to what they were when i got there, but usually there were one or two plates already chillin. always leave things the way you found them is what i tell myself

I am able to work out harder when people don't remove the weights by lifting them with my arm biceps/triceps/brachiopenialis muscles which is a great warmup when I get to the next exercise. if someone has left extra weights on the machine after they are finished I rejoice, if the remove then I say NO! Let me! (respectfully) I am a bodybuilder and I need to lift as much weight as possible.

it's nice of guys who want to help unload the 45s and stuff but i usually just say "oh that's ok, I got it" while I proceed to try to look cool handling the 45s with ease and precision. i keep a straight face like "oh this is so light, i got these fuckers, i can lift this with my pinky this aint shit, i'm tough *glance in mirror* holy fuck look at my delts pop when i hold the 45 out in front of my body, that looks hot"

lol, i look so awesome when i do back hyperextensions

In the 60's when I worked out at a commercial gym, they had a strict policy of returning the weights. That was cool, but they were TOO eger to tell you to clean up. I would do one set, take a break by walking away from the bench mayb 10 feet, and BAMMMM "Hey, you need to clean the bar..." wtf? I got more sets to do!!

This happened all the freaking time. The gym had just opened up and they had way too many employees walking around telling people this. wtf? I hated the place just for that reason alone.

They did have some nice Hammer strength machines though. Loved the chest and shoulder presses.

I don't mind removing plates as much as I mind wiping up their sweat off the benches.
