At gym: Elliptical machine
Once a week at night: Play basketball, full court.
Other: Go mountain biking

Tread mill / eliptical / stair master and staring and girls butts and giggling boobs to keep me from killing myself.

It may be hard work...but cardio...no.

I don't understand why you think it's not cardio.

Running almost constantly which keep's your heartrate up isn't good cardio?

You're constantly running in racquet ball? From what I've seen there are alot of stops and starts...not constant running.

While it will burn off alot of cals, it's not necessarily a good form of exercise for your heart. Not on the same level as running on the treadmill at least.

Are we talking cardio for heart health, or are we just talking burning calories?

elliptical. I bring an MP3 player, a book, and watch tv at the same time so its not uber boring. I should try something like racquetball though but there isnt a court at my gym

Wodin has a nice set of manboobs. That Sasquatch mother fucker has to wear a god damn training bra on the treadmill.

Have you ever played? The only break is between serves.I think its good for burning calories and your heart .

what ever u do keep your heart rate at around 65% of max at around 30 min for best fat buring action

running for Cardio breaks me down to much and i prefer to ride a bike A.M. for 30 min 4-5 times week for card

I've noticed Tuc Biscuit hasn't responded to this thread. hahaha

To simplistic. Lifting weights will get your heart rate up, like Nelson always says. But HR doesn't determine what's good for your heart. It's about keeping the stroke volume elevated...which you get from running on a treadmill because of the muscle pump (rhythmic muscle contractions squeezing blood back to your heart). This makes the heart more efficient...and lowers your resting heart rate because your heart can pump more blood per beat.

So anything where there is ANY starting and stopping, is not an ideal form of cardio.

That's why cool-downs are so important (especially for cardiac patients)...if you're exercising, you're getting lots of venous return, and if you just stop cold turkey, your venous return drops rapidly, causing a rapid drop in mean arterial pressure...this increases the risk of passing out.

yes, it is cardio, wtf you talking about? In essence any activity which accelerates heart rate can be considered cardio - go do 20 rep squat or run a mile same fk'n thing, just different approach :o

Treadmill - is just jumping like an idiot on one place, bleh...

You don't know much about the CV system.

Is the ski machine the same thing as an elliptical?

Similar but not quite.. the elliptical is more of an oval step-motion, with the ski it's just front to back, no up-down at all. Does that make sense?

I dislike the elipse, makes me feel like a prancing fairy. ;)
