What do you do between sets?

I was just wondering what everyone does between sets. I have heard people say many things. Some people say to stretch, while some people say don't. I have also heard the same thing about flexing the muscle to get blood into it. I usually just try to wake around to keep the blood the moving.
 
sip some water, add some weight ,walk away from the bar, visualise the next set...walk back to the bar..get set and lift.

I know some people think that strecthing between sets is helpful. something about stretching the muscle fascia. helps hypertrophy is the argument.
 
Well since no hot chicks go to my gym, I dont have much of a scenery between sets. I walk around a little bit, sip on a powerade, and focus on busting the next set out better than the previous.

drink water, look at my stopwatch (I time my rests), walk around a bit and do some active movements, look at gym weenies :D
 
Thomas Kurz recommends resting for a bit, then walking around coming up to the next set.

Personally, I just chat with the other lifters who are resting, if I know them. If not, I hang round like a spare part...... drink water....
 
I mostly just help my trainingpartner thru his set.
If you want to stretch or anything, just stretch for a couple of seconds. What you want is fresh blood to pour thru your muscles, giving them new oxygen, if you flex or stretch to hard to long you can prevent new blood from entring the muscles, and then you wold only get a negative effect from it.
 
I look at the floor and concentrate on the next set. . . .I use visualization techniques.

There is no time for spacing out our checking out to see what other people are doing.
 
take a drink of water, look at my sheet, compare to last week, pick callus's

and for some reason watching the sweat roll of my face and drip onto the carpet is very fullfilling
 
Drink water, check my watch, visualize next set. Repeat "Light weight!" and "Yeah buddy!" to myself over and over.

Sometimes I check out hot chicks, depending on what exercise I'm about to do.
 
I stretch and talk to myself. I usually tell myself that I am not working hard enough and there is someone else somewhere else working harder than me.
 
Generally walk around and look pissed off so no one will interupt my workout if my partner isn't there. Otherwise spot him and get ready for next set.

hehe....I usually walk around, maybe get a drink of water....a lot of times I am mouthing lyrics to what I am listening to....or I might stretch
 
I'm downing some water and telling my training partner to stop talking and to get on with his set...
 
Favorite things to do after a set:

1. Insult my training partner

2. Lean on something padded so it doesn't blow away

3. Drink water

4. Pick wedgie

5. Laugh at training partner's pain
 
I do my taxes in between sets. jk all the drip marks from my sweat made the ink blurred.

I guess I`m out of shape cause I try and get my breathing back to normal. I look at my watch too (timed rest). If I don`t look at my watch I tend to rest too little. I FORCE myself to rest 2-3 minutes.

change weights and write in the log book also.
 
catch my breath and recover form the last set. and just wait on my body to tell me when its time to go again, unless they are timed rest.

Try to relax and breathe deeply to deal with the oxygen debt. Stare at the floor. Use visualization. Maybe drink some water.

I like these too, and my training partner is so easy to insult.
