What do you consider a big bicep?

16"? 17"?

Good to see your Post Freak! I'm back living in New Hampshire, been back for 2 yrs getting ready for a show In Oct. Current stats 5' 9" 190 lbs 7.5 BF. gunning for the Middle weight division at the NH State Open. My yahoo e-mail is [email protected] would like to here what's going on down In Atl, Later brother, Train hard Pete

Here's a stupid question. Is it considered cheating to take a measurment after your workout, or is cold flex the proper way to measure?

the # alone doesnt mean a lot, some guys have huge arms but due to bf % you wouldn't look twice

while a 16-18" lean arm can look reasonably impressive

i dont think 16in arms is huge but i know it is much bigger then the average man.

its hard to say whats really huge? i mean ive seen guys with 22in arms who looked like shit! and ive seen guys with 18in arms who were ripped and they looked big! i think it depends on what kind of shape the guy is in.

My gran probably has a 18" arm!!!

The condition of the arm is what counts, a 16" ripped arm looks better than a bulky 18" arm IMO

Would you rather have your dick measure hard or limp?

there have been numerous hilarious posts today and this ranks in the top 3. k coming your way

mine are 16.25 and on a blood pressure test chair i cant get an accurite result.
i think it said anything over 14 or 15 would be inaccurate.
with that said does any1 know what the average mans upper arm messurement is?

Mine was once over 20", but I was fat...now I measure around 18.5" and I get a lot more compliments because I have much lower bf%...

Depends on a lot of factors... joint size, bone structure, height is a big one, conditioning is another, etc. My arms measure a hair under 17" right now cold, but at only 5'5" and 10% bodyfat, they look MUCH bigger than a guy who's 15% bf and 6ft tall, even if his arms are 20+". It's all relative, this is bodybuilding, it's the LOOK of the arm that matters, not the actual measurement.

A guy 6ft 15% b/f with 20+ inch arms would look massive

my bros are 18" but he weighs 235.. plus he has prosthetic legs... so its all upper body.. he is not fat but not cut he is just massive as eevryone says... i am also a firm non believer of overtraining now because he was in an accident that had to amputate his legs.. he weighed 95 lbs then in 2 yrs he was up to 230..everyday he worked his upper body for 2 hrs 5 days a week.. if thats not overtrainin i dunno wut is .. o ya he was takin ripped and chrome fuel which is now off the market lol but sold at GNC at the time

Mine are 19.5" cold @ 15% bodyfat. I bet less than 10% of weight lifters have 20" guns, so I think that is a marquee number. Mine look big and have a decent amount of definition. There are guys that have 17-18" arms that I would rather have. There are a lot more things that make a great set of arms than pure size. I have set many goals for arm size. I have achieved most of them but still do not have the look that I want.

Its all relative, I have 16 inch biceps and consider them small but my workout partner has the same and his are like softballs more difined and cut which really make them pop and look huge.

Dude that was pretty damned funny I have to give you that.

But I would have to say cold is the way to measure because after workout your pumps could vary depends if you wussed out that day at the gym or went balls to the walls every day like Goluan!!!

And thanks for the ego boost this thread has given me! Even though I like to check my ego at the door its nice to hear what some people consider big. When you get into competition with someone other than yourself you are asking for trouble. Wasted emotions because you can always be a better you if you try. Those who cant check it are the ones running around the gym poking there chests out at you! LOL!

def true... im 5'7 so im in the same boat

also, cold, flexed is the only one that counts... my arms gain about a full inch after a bi/tri workout

i have a complex about my arms too, i always think they are tiny... i am probably more body-dysmorphic than anyone on this board

also, its how your arm looks in proportion to the rest of your body. The stalky ripped arm look is what the bodybuilder tends to go for. Tall guys like me have a harder time to achieve that look, especially in the tricep area. Either way, its a look we all want to shoot for. Some get it easier than others...but definately, arms look better ripped. I had 20" at one point after a nice bicep workout followed by taco bell, but its quality over quantity. Now I am at a ripped 18" and it looks way better. Some people will even say your arms look bigger when they are ripped when in reality you have lost size because you lost the fat that came with the big size. There was one time where I was doing tricep pulldowns and I could see the tiny cellulite bublbes of fat on the sides of my arm when I was getting the pump....nasty. I have never gone over 16 % body fat (at least I think)but still that was a terrible realization
