i am far from having kids, but i just wanted to know, what the hell do i say to my kids when they ask if i ever did steroids/ drugs. i mean, ive at least tried everything i could get my hands on. my good friend told me that his dad once told him "do as i say,...not as i do" i thought this was a pretty reasonable response, but should you even tell your kids???

Depends on your morals ...

If you think it's okay with your kids doing it than tell them, if you don't think it's okay then don't tell them.

I think that there is a time and place. If your kid is 15 and asking then you deny it. If he is 23 and asking you can be honest. He should be at a point in his life where he is able to make informed decisions.

I've taken care of two girls (practically myy daughters) Both asked me about it. I told them I was a steroid using weight lifter... and had been for 20 years. Then I explained what steroids did, how they worked, what I felt the risks are, and what I saw as the benefits.

They both soaked up the info... then were never particularly interested after that.

What if they ask how you became known as SofaGeorge?

:fro:

That's my dog's name. My dog was famous briefly... sort of a wierd story... ended up with a short lived fan club in Japan. If anybody asks how he got the name... I show them the old talkshow footage.

i just cant see how that issue would ever come up.

This is a little strange. You don`t have kids yet but are wondering what you would say to them if they asked? In about 15 YEARS from now? Wow
Well, It`s nice to know that you are considerate of their feelings (or WILL be).
Be carefull, The reason why kids ask sometimes is their friends say "Hey your dad is a steroid freak" or "does your dad blah blah blah" and they come home from school or whatever to ask you and WANT YOU TO TELL THEM GOOD NEWS ABOUT IT. Not "YES, Your freinds are right I AM a roid ...

Damn, these EC pills are making me write on and on about ANYTHING. I can`t stop. lol

I always followed the rule of always being honest with son whenever he asked a question. That doesn't mean I volunteered information.

You should tell them what and why, and give your perspective on it. They'll respect you and trust you more -- which will mean a lot when you tell them why it isn't in their best interst to do one thing or another. It isn't "do as I say, not as I do". It's "having lived a little longer, this is what I believe is good or bad."
