The National Science Board and a think tank of tech executives recently warned that the economic vitality of America is threatened by a lack of U.S. graduates in science and engineering.

Also, the Bureau of Labor Statistics says demand for science and engineering workers will increase three times faster than all job categories this decade. Eighty-six percent of those jobs - 2.2 million - will be in the computer field.

Are those fuckers just trying to trick young people back into engineering programs only to leave them jobless in this new economy?

all the tech job growth is in India.

we're still down 3 MILLION jobs during the bush admin. The job growth he talked about was 1 thousand jobs last month from a target of over 200 thousand....

Many industires are slowly improving.

I work in the CNC industry, in engineering (I'm the rookie in engineering dept. so I do all the grunt work). Just a few months ago we let go several engineers 'cause bussiness was down. Recently, sales have been steadily going back up and now new engineers are being hired. If we are selling more CNC machines, it's cause the industries are picking up.

I beleive it, to a point. Not many kids are as interested in Engineering as they might have been around 15 years ago. They also want to stop the need for foreign engineers 'cause they want to stop handing out as many work visas.

The Coué Method ?

With globalization, an indian can do au US job even in engineering fields
