What characteristics do you prefer in a mate?

Now, why would you pick over the other and once you’ve chosen do you miss anything from what you have not chosen?

I'd hate to think they're mutually exclusive choices but I go with responsible. Spontaneous could mean she'd cheat if the situation were right.

I mean, loyal is not really an option, even in a time of lowered expectations. Would be pretty difficult to appreciate her "romance and spontaniety" if she wwas slleping with all your friends.

And I guess kind and loving no longer merit consideration Are they still out of vogue?

I'm going to go with Other. I want honesty and trust. I want a sense of humor because he has to be able to make me laugh. I want intelligence because if we can't have a real conversation, then I'm showing him the door. I want someone with a backbone who won't just take anything I throw at him and let me get by with it, but at the same time, he better be sensitive enough to put up with me at times. I want openness so he can tell me anything that is on his mind.

Lord, I do tend to ramble. I guess I just find it hard to narrow down it down to just 2 qualities.

I'd rather be with someone that wasn't romantic or spontaneous.. than be with someone who was irresponible and disloyal.

Loyalty to me is about trust, and without that, there's nothing.
